I just saw a photo on CNN of First Sergeant James D. Connell jr., believed among the dead in an ambush in Iraq the other day.

He was wearing an orange power "T" cap in the photo. That was tough to see.

Strength to his family, in Lake City....

"He loved the Army," one of the children explained. "Always said it was a dream, and I guess he did all he could to fulfill it."
For 19 years he was a career soldier, but to his youngest child, he was as dad with amazing talent.
"He cooked the best ribs I ever have," Bryan Connell said.

I can't stand these stories man. I just want to help so bad, but what can I/anyone do?

For every soldier that gives his life is one family that goes through grief. I just can't stand thinking about that.

Especially when some of our boys and girls are teenagers still. Makes me sick.

UT fan or not it's very sad. Thoughts go out to everyone involved.

I totally agree! There are lots of families without a father, mother, son or daughter that was in Iraq and won't be coming through the front door. They are all missed. God bless them all!

Retired AF NCO and proud to have served.:salute:
