We are not Alabama but they lost to La Monroe during Sabans first season
We will either build the program back up or in 5 years Pruitt will be gone and a new search will begin

No one currently involved in this program can be blamed for the past woes. Coach Fulmer and now coach Pruitt I think are capable. I like a coach with surprises on the field. I like a coach with "fire in his belly". I like an AD that truly loves the program. Be patient we will get there. I am as aggravated as the next person but we are trying to correct a team that has been woefully mislead by (I won't say idiots) but you get my point, over ten years, no less. We have the greatest fan base of any team, full of passion. It's not a brick by brick scenario , it's a player by player, recruit by recruit, class by class building process. My ONLY concern about coach Pruitt is why we play a fifth year senior as a back up. He either needs to be giving the chance to be first string or demoted to the string qb so we can be building for the future.

In closing,

GBO!

Thoughts ?
Neither of those individuals have demonstrated as of yet that they know what they are doing. We can be patient but show some evidence of improvement before you start singing the praises of the AD or head coach. Hyperbole without results = Tennessee Football.

Not to mention I'm pretty sure the OP and many of the others proclaiming Pruitt is definitely "the man" said the same thing about Kiffin, Dooley, and Jones.

We interviewed numerous (10+) coaches prior to coach Pruitt, numerous players don't even give the Vols a serious thought now, the program is on the mend. It was left in disarray. Fulmer and Pruitt are making the best of a situation they took over. Gotta give it time.

Both "sides" of the Tennessee fan base are right (ignoring the trolls spouting negativity just to show discontent".
Pruitt had never been a head coach and will be learning to be one for the next few years. That means he is going to screw up just like the players. I do think he and the staff are doing their best to teach these players. That said, he has so far not proven he can get a team ready to for a football game. Both opponents we have played with a pulse, have throttled us. I see far less talented teams taking much stronger opponents than Florida (they are not good...) to the wire, giving them a game.
To be fair to Pruitt, there is far less fight there in the players than inexpected. Even Butch kept talking about resiliency, and consistency. The problem was he didn't know how to instill that in the team. Does Pruitt and staff? To be determined. I do not think Pruitt really understood how bad off we were. On paper there was talent, but that paper "talent"would have not let us go 4-8 last year. There may be some decent individual players in there, but they have not figured how to bring it together as a team. It is on the players to have that will. Not sure how many we have that do.
Here's some more seeds for discontent (it's "sowing," not "showing"). All four-stars are not created equally. The ones who fall to TN are lesser four-stars than those for GA, FLA, and Bama. Add to that a guy who was nobody else's choice for head coach and you are looking at another 4-win season next year. BYU will be ready; UT probably will not. There is one and only one thing Pruitt can do to maximize some chance of future success. Get the freshman QB in there now and let him take his lumps.

Autocorrect is annoying sometimes
