This is something id like to be seen done i really enjoy reading everything on here but it would be nice to have a thread devoted just to updates like on VQ, GVX247, Scout, Espn, Newspaper articles or whatever. I will start it off format will be Name of recruit, Class, State, position; and then publication.
14 JUCO DL Jarran Reed
-OV to UT 11/23 per Rivals
"I'll be down to Tennessee this weekend for a visit," Reed said. "I'm ready to see the atmosphere and the stadium and see what it's really like." "They want me up there to help get back the tradition up there. They said they have a big need on the defensive line," Reed said. "It's a great opportunity, but I know I have to go in there and work my tail off to earn and a spot, whether that's on the first or second string. I'm just going in with one thing on my mind and that's to play to the best of my ability and get better every single day."
"I feel like with a few additions at a few spots they could be great," Reed said. "They've put up a real fight in almost every game they've played this year and it just seems like they could possibly getting over the hump and being something big."
"What's important to me is the reps," Reed explained. "I know that depends on me, but I just want to know who all is there and where they're playing. I want to play for great coaches to make sure I'm coached well. I want to play with a good offense and a complete team."
Reed may not be the only visitor from East Mississippi Community College this weekend as teammate D.J. Pettway may be in Knoxville as well for a visit. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end and Alabama transfer was at Ole Miss last weekend for his first official visit. Both Reed and Pettway are scheduled to be early enrollees.

I think Reed and Lamin are the top two options. Reed is playing really, really well this season. Lamin is a take because he's a three-year guy.
Pettway is a really good. I think Ole Miss is the leader there right now.
I think McDowdell may be behind a couple of guys right now. I think Heurtelou would be ahead of him as well.
-Fortenberry
Why isn't UF recruiting Reed since he signed with them originally?
Quote:
I don't know that Florida is recruiting any juco DTs besides Lambert (who is just that good) that I know of. Also, I don't think it helped that Florida signed the kid and told him he could get out in the summer and now he's back at East Mississippi.
-Fortenberry

14 JUCO DL Abu Lamin
"I already know about their academic support and they have everything," Lamin said. "I'm really looking forward to see the campus lifestyle and how the player's life is there and just being around the team. I know everything is else is just fine because that's Tennessee. Everything else is going to be A-1. "
"That game atmosphere is going to be my first college game that I've ever been to," Lamin said. "That's probably going to blow me out the water just seeing all that. It's crazy exciting. I've never been anywhere with 100,000 fans, period."
On talking with Butch and Stripling:
"They're telling me they'd love to have me and I have big opportunity to come in and play on a great team," Lamin said. "I've already heard about all the good juco players they have with Lambert, Blair and Weatherd and being a part of that group would be cool to start something new at Tennessee and build something up."
On talking with Lambert... his friend:
""He's been telling me that Tennessee is where it's at," Lamin said. "Lambert is my dog and when I hear that I'm like, 'Dang.' We've been talking and for him to say that I think that's really where it must be at. He told me that Tennessee is where it's at and to make sure I got and check it out."

14 JUCO OT Avery Gennesy
OL Recruiting...are we done or would they take Gennesy or another HS OL?
Quote:
They would take Gennesy. I think they want Bookser to visit.
-Fortenberry
He's legitimately interested in the Vols. Looks like Tennessee and Texas A&M are the two teams he likes the most right now.
-Fortenberry
"First of all, they're losing all of their linemen so they're going to need some help," Gennesy said. "It will be the first time for me going down to Tennessee so it should be a fun experience just seeing everything and checking out every aspect."
"It's very exciting because I know if I were to come to that school and take care of business I could start right away and have a good chance to play at the next tackle," Gennesy said.
On relating to GA Anthony Parker:
"He can understand what you're going through," Gennesy said. "Even though he's just a few years older than you he knows your point of view and can know what you're going through."
"School-wise, they need to have my major and I want to be able to set myself up for success even if football doesn't work out for me," Gennesy explained. "Obviously, I want to play right away because I only have two more years. Coaching staff-wise, how do they get a long and how are the teammates because when you go through tough times that's who you have to stick with the most."

15 TN CB Ugo Amadi
"It was very exciting," Amadi said. "The fans loved it even though they lost. They haven't won a championship since 1998 and they are still filling the stadium. They have diehard fans that's what I like about UT.
"The program is coming up. They are getting better game by game."
"I am pretty sure I will be back for another game," Amadi offered.

14 JUCO DL DJ Pettway

Pettway is a really good. I think Ole Miss is the leader there right now.
-Fortenberry
"I think that's part of the reason Tennessee is bringing him in this weekend. The kid can play, no doubt about that. But, I think they are also hoping to see who Pettway is after the incident at Alabama. Seems like it's a two-way interview."
- Fortenberry
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14 TN OL/DL Charles Mosley
Some speculation that Mosley is being told to wait that he might not be a take right now is that true?
"He's a take."
- Fortenberry
Is Mosley worth saving a spot for if a JUCO DT wants his spot?
"I think so. He's a four-year player compared to just a two-year guy. They need to not only be more talented on the D-line, but get younger as well."
- Fortenberry

14 GA S Cortez McDowell
they never got down on themselves[.] for them to just keep fighting and take that game to overtime with a big team, thats a big statement for a lot of the commits and stuff who were all there.
that environment was probably one of the best ones that ive been in. Its probably one of the top ones, added mcdowell, who previously had attended games at georgia, florida state and georgia tech. that game and the georgia-ole miss game last year were both pretty intense.
i was just going in to really just watch a good football game, and thats what i got out of it at the end of the game, said mcdowell, who chose the vols over auburn and georgia, among others.
from the georgia game, that game was proving that tennessees on the way back up.
it was exciting, mcdowell said. there was a lot of people out there just having fun. Its something im looking forward to when i get to knoxville.

Cortez was also putting in some reruiting work (on Andrew Williams):
Quote:
I was working hard on him (during the visit), because we were kind of up there together. We all drove up the same day, McDowell said. I was working on him pretty much all day. Im trying. Its, like, 50-50 with me and him. I think Im getting to him a lot more now, and Tennessees got a shot with him.
Also on Cortez:
Quote:
Im done, McDowell said. Ive committed where I wanted to be at.

16 GA RB Mecole Hardman
Elbert County sophomore QB Mecole Hardman has rushed for 980 yards on 88 carries (11.1 ypc) and scored at least two touchdowns in every game except the opener against Buford. He also has passed for 364 yards and caught a 31-yard TD pass. And he is the team's punter.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14 JUCO WR LaVon Pearson
"The talk of the General's Quarters for the past two weeks has been Lavon Pearson. The Feather River Community College wideout will be taking his first ever campus visit to Knoxville this weekend and coming into the visit the Vols are clearly the team to beat.
Pearson will be joined on the visit by his family who are making their way from their Newport News, Va., home and if he and his family like everything in Knoxville we'll be keeping a close eye on him Sunday morning to see if he makes an early decision as he's hinted at."
