Tennessee under NCAA investigation over use of recruiting hostesses

karma is a bit**...this not only looks bad for Tennessee, but for all of college football...what a disgrace this program has become...

is it funny to bend and break rules? thats what this program is known for now...lane thinks he can bend all the rules and take the minor violations...

boo me if you want vol fans...but in reality, you know this is true...this is just wrong and it's not Tennessee football

go jump off a cliff

WTF? Seems strange to me that the NY Times is the one to pick this up? And they know what most of the people around the country reading this are thinking. What they're insinuating is complete B.S.

How was your trick or treating cock? Did you see a ghost?

Given the nature of the story, are you really surprised at which paper this is in?

after all is said and done, this will help recruiting and SC talent will continue to fill our rosters.. haha

What also comes as no surprise is that some jackleg SC fan who has no pride in his own program comes over here to try and kick sand in our face....

What?

I'm sure you would have loved for us to keep Phil. You actually have a chance when he's our coach.

The coaches did not flee a program in trouble...they took promotions and more money...if you are so down right now how about helping fulmer get another job and then go be a fan of that school...go big orange

Don't put much stock with this story coming from the NY times..

The past couple of years NY times has ran stories that make the stuff in your grocery store line embarrased. They have lost alot of credibility lately.. Just because there big name doesn't mean anything...

The story mentions the hostesses being the talk of UT message boards. ??? Not that I've seen. Who is flying hostesses to football games in other states? That's pretty dumb, if true. Not sure if it's a violation--we'll find out--but a bit extreme.

the violation would be if UT knew about and helped organize it. if they went and did something on their own, not sure it would be much to it. Might have to disband the hostess program.

BUT, anytime NCAA is looking at you there is risk of finding much bigger things then they started looking for...

Normally I do not condone any type of kick back in this type situation. However, I wonder if we should not start our own investigation into the NCAA. Hire a couple of lawyers to go to their offices and start asking for interviews of those who deem a football message boards love of hostesses to start an investigation, and look to be intentionally trying to influence a recruiting class. Specifically, why is their witness always a South Carolina commit/soon to be commit?

You're right, it's pretty much all football. Most schools do this, especially in the SEC. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

I think its funny when other teams fans and the media are talking about this. where was everybody when Aubarn was under investigation and trooper ended up being suspended from recruiting for a month or two. this kind of stuff happens all over the nation but since everybody has such a hard on for UT then the media is gonna blow it up.

Agreed on both points. The severity of the transgression would be minimal, even if we did know.

While this might get scrutiny, this is a new staff and would ever live up to inst control type problems.

IMO, the scrutiny has been there since day one with this staff. Same with Saban and Carroll.

Absolutely correct... you throw enough mud on the wall and eventually something sticks.

I noticed that too, ESPN hasn't even reported on their website and I know they love to have this crap.

We all rushed an online poll and voted for Tyler Bray, maybe that was "online source".

This isn't really a big deal, but it will be if they find something else...

Yeah.....this is a poor man's effort to try to drag down our recruiting class, as we're taking over...... Bitter coaches like Cryer, Spur-dork, Satan, and ChickStick, trying to tell recruits to smoke us........pathetic! :bad:
