First off, let me say that I know ALL of our traditions are sacred and Jesus wears orange..... BUT, if you could change one--or create a new one, what would it be?

I would change the direction being taken by our cheerleaders. I hate having such pathetic cheers. Hearing "roll tide", "gator bait", etc gets old, but damn does it sound impressive. It's time we get a cheer or a chant with substance for when the band can't play "Rocky Top".

I would like to do the exact opposite. Just get some really hot chicks and tell them to jump around..

I agree, it seems like every other school has one but us. They've tried the "Orange-White" chant before, but it just doesn't work.

Stop playing Rocky Top every five seconds and learn some new songs. It gets kind of embarrassing sometimes.

I think we need to add another 15-20 onto the Pride of the South Band. I've noticed this year and previous yrs that our band is much smaller than our SEC rivals (Bama,LSU,Auburn,Florida, UGA,etc.) I have much respect for our band but we are not as loud as we used to be. I really noticed this at the MCB. North Carolinas band had the edge on us. Someone fill me in on this issue. Have we lost scholarships for band members or what?

I think they decreased the numbers from about 330 to 300.

Also, I wish the Pride was composed of brass/percussion only. It would allow for a much bolder and rich sound. Some of the Big 10 bands are like this.... It would be sweet to sound like a drum corp.

I would like a little more enthusiasm from the stadium...

Let's just kill off all the old people. (sarcasm)

The Pride of the Southland isn't what it used to be....

It's not scholarships, it's the directors.

firstly. get a drum corps, then, orange white chant, do a V O L S chant alot, it gets the stadium up a little, but our band only does it once, if we kept doing it say 4 times, the stadium would be rocking. 3rd down is pretty sleepy atm.

I have no desire to change anything about the traditions.I like the woo in Rocky Top and I dont think they play it enough.Watch and listen the next time oklahoma plays, they play boomer sooner constantly. We just need to win more. The reason people (the Orange Nation)think we have nothing like the bamas and floridas of the world is because we hear ours all the time and dont hear theirs as much.GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

First of all, depending on where you sat, it would drastically change how the bands sounded. If you sat across from the NC band and next to the Pride, you'd only hear NC stuff, and vice versa. If you're referring to halftime, then it was probably louder where you sat because of the show. With everyone moving in different directions for almost all the Circle Drill, you're bound to hear less because less sound is going directly toward you. It's all about acoustics. As for where I sat (333), you wouldn't have known NC brought a band until halftime

Incorrect. We have "Whatcha got? Vols. Say it again. Vols. Louder. Vols. Who ya love? Vols. Who ya love? Vols."

BTW, you have the creed written incorrectly.

"He that beareth a torch shadoweth himself to give light to others"
