Tennessee to pursue Antonio Barton

Reading one of the Terp sources who said if they missed on Barton they might make a play for Golden.will he be eligible this season?

According to UTs director of compliance (iirc) he's "nowhere close" to graduating, so no he wouldn't be eligible.

I found that odd. With all the privacy concerns, how does a compliance director get away with going on the record about how close or far a student is from graduation?

Yea it was a bit odd to say the least, especially considering how quiet UT has been about the while deal.

Someone mentioned Kansas on MT.org. They could've meant K State, I guess, but they said Kansas.

Yea guessing they meant Kansas State, seeing as how kansas doesnt have a scholarship. Maryland sites are reporting Syracuse is out and it's between Tennessee and Maryland.

Got to keep refreshing the Maryland sites. If Barton chooses TN, it will more than likely be announced by them before we here anything.

Damn, what's wrong with the media there?

I figure we'll hear something on the west 'coast' of the state too. Parrish will probably be on top of it.

They're lazy is the best answer I can come up with, they want to be spoon fed information and not go out and put in any work to find information.

Haven't paid much attention to parish through the Barton process, has he been on top of things so far?

I hate listening to Parrish but once in a while he comes up with good info. Seems he's been more into the Black thing but I'm sure he'll have something to say about AB when it happens.

AB's a good kid and I think he'll do well next year. I still think the Vols can utilize him better than Maryland can.

I find Parrish entertaining, but you have to get used to his arrogance. Although Parrish is a Memphis guy, he probably doesn't endear himself to Memphis fans because he has to be an objective national reporter. From time to time, I get frustrated with Easterwood and John Martin interviews because they are clearly homers. That is ok, but Martin now writes for the CA, and he needs to be more objective. As far as info, Parrish can probably find out anything he wants. He is so connected to college basketball that he can call any assistant he wants to.

Martin is the biggest homer I've ever seen.
