What’s weird about this is that Phil is fully aware what this fanbase is capable of. Hell it’s how even was able to finagle his way in the his position. He’s such an opportunist.

Nothing will change until the fanbase stages another coup.

So...it doesn't make much sense to even try this year with the virus and all the factors with it for any reason other than tv revenue and contractual obligations that I can see.

the most important aspect of any bowl game is the additional practice time, especially for the younger players.

What is going to be interesting is that this game is less than 2 weeks away. Let's say Fulmer backs up Pruitt leading up to the bowl game and then we end up losing to WVU by like 10-14 points.

I really think all hell will break loose and the fans would end up pressuring Fulmer to fire Pruitt. I think a lot more is riding on this bowl game than many think.

If he doesn't fire him, you'll see record low attendance week 1 next season.

I have followed Tn FB since 1965 (7 years old). Maybe not as long as you but close. Been to many games since that time, donated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, not to mention buying season tickets, preferred parking, literally closets of UT gear, traveling to bowl games etc. I highly doubt few if anyone on VN has invested more or even as much as I have in UT FB. I respect ur choice to continue to support mediocrity if that's what makes you happy. UT lost a lot of my support, when they made the man responsible for the decline of Tn FB, athletic director. Then allowed a has been, X QB who was 0-4 against our biggest rival when he played, have say in future HC'n hires. It is beyond idiotic, that many actually believe Fulmer and Manning have the FB programs best interest at heat. They have always put their self interest first and always will. I put both of them in the rear view mirror years ago. Until the university gets a clue and does the same, UT will continue to be the laughing stock of college FB. LOTS of fans need to come to this realization as well.

And again I ask the question. What will two more weeks of practice with this staff do? They lost 7 of their last 8 and looked pretty pathetic doing it. What new things will they learn in 2 weeks? What new motivation can Pruitt provide?

Yo I just wanna say this has gotta be the most respectful Tennessee message board I’ve seen. Some of the guys back at the 24/7 board copied some comments from another site and there’s some pretty crappy comments about WVU. Idk if he has WVU confused with Marshall or what but acting like WVU is some Div 2 college is BS. So I do appreciate you guys being respectful. Thank you

I’m not convinced Pruitt can win and I’m not convinced we’ll hire a worthy replacement if we fire him. It’s out of my hands either way. I enjoy watching Tennessee win, though, so I’ll hope for that. Beat the Mountaineers!

Sad part, it seems no matter how bad the team looks and how many double digit losses we have, the Gear (fat) pumpkin will bring him back as HC.

The reason The Lorraine Motel is featured in The Liberty Bowl logo is because the National Civil Rights Museum At The Lorraine Motel is located there...it’s a museum, much the way The Texas Schoolbook Depository in Dallas is a museum. Someone in a previous post wondered WTH...so did I. So I investigated.

I read some articles about Army being left out of the bowls. I feel so bad for that program. A 9-2 team not picked by anyone? I saw they accepted a Invitation for the independence bowl but it got canceled so now they are screwed

Hopefully we’ll turn it around. I thought we played decent in spurts vs A&M. A team that deserves to be in the playoff

I would go just for the chance to get back to Memphis, and test out the new casino across the river. My buddy lives within walking distance of the stadium so free lodging too!

I’m not sure where I’ll be during this game but it won’t be a priority to me as previously. How sad that bowl games meant so much.
