Tennessee to appear in the Music City Bowl

Gator is more interested in TV audience for this game.

Attendance needs to be good, but TV numbers will attract title sponsor.

Miss St. v Michigan isn't a bad game. Miss St. should win.

On a national level, Mississippi state is like us watching Iowa State/Oregon State/Indiana. Its not a national appeal, which is why there was even a discussion of them not getting the bowl they deserved.

Agree, but it's pretty pathetic that Slive has never done one thing for the Vols (NCAAB tourney where we got screwed a few times on seeding, bowl situation, etc...) If he wanted to make a fuss, he should have done it with the Outback Bowl who started all this crap. Oh wait... we are talking about the Florida Gators.
So how did we get a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament PEarl's first year? How did we jump a couple of teams and land in the Chik-fil-a Bowl last year?

All the MCB vs. Gator talk aside...

The SEC needs to tell the Outback and their garbage 11am kickoff to shove it. The way they screw the pooch every year is getting ridiculous...

We actually got a better bowl than we deserved last year.

We got what we deserved last year. We were 2nd in the East and the 4th/5th SEC team after 2 teams went BCS. If anything, we should have gone to the Outback bowl.

a month ago we wouldn't even talking bowls. Now they get to go to a bowl at 6-6. It should be the MCB and you should be thankful for that. We didn't deserve a New Years Day Bowl. I'm proud of the team to be going anywhere!

Im excited to play UNC. Denard Robinson scared me from the start, but let's support this team and make sure we build on it. A solid step in the right direction here.

yet we got a 2 seed we in no way deserved. Does that fit in your plan?

and how does tourney seeding reflect the commish anyway?

Commissioners definitely play a big part in the game on seeding. That #2 seed was a shocker, but you have to admit he has done nothing that favors the Vols.

The media will love this if it's true. We got hammered for dropping UNC earlier, but now things have played out to where we will actually get to face them. Funny how that can happen sometimes

The SEC certainly didn't do UT a "solid" and push them up over a couple of better teams, but Miss St and SC certainly could have a gripe about getting the shaft thanks to the Gators. Tennessee is playing where they should be playing, but I do wish the SEC would/could enforce some type of ranking/pecking order among all of the SEC affiliated bowls, not just the Sugar and Capital One. Under the current setup, as long as Florida wins 6 games, they're going to get preferential treatment over other teams.

The media will love it, but will it have much effect on the outcome? doubtful. If anything, it builds some hype.

Who did we jump? A lot of people were shocked we didn't get the Outback last year, but I think that was due more to Hamilton more than Slive because Auburn went and guaranteed the Outback a lot concerning revenue and fan allotment.

Can't believe people are blaming Hamilton for getting the bowl game we deserved. Stupid
