We could get as many as five righty batters in against a leftie if we wanted to Phillips, Pacini, Weimer, Osbron, and Rogers. The loss of righty Shipman really hurt us this season. I wonder why they closed her down for the entire season looks to be recovered from the injury really active in the dugout.
We got to play better against Miss State need to win two would love to get the sweep.

Both injuries she suffered would have been season ending. She may be active in the dugout, but you don't come back from an ACL in the same season. She hasn't even had surgery yet. Wrist is still in a hard cast and will be for weeks to come.

Thanks hadn't heard about the acl of course that is season ending and a long road to recovery.

I predict we will not get close to a set infield this year. They swap it up so much nobody can get comfortable!!
Good point.....I think we should leave Seggern at third, Osbron at SS,Leach at second, Morgan at first and Phillips catching. Let then blend together for the balance of the year....JMO 😏

That is exactly what I have preached since all this BS started. When CS was hurt I understand but not anymore. All I heard was that Osbron was the SS of the future ( I think a pretty good one comes in the next class ) then let her play there. Moving around CS and AL does nothing but make two positions weaker than before. I had hoped CS would be our next AA but wont happen this year for sure. Has not hit a HR since her injury and still has a total of 1. Defense has been suspect at both positions . Most people do not understand ( not saying Ralph ) that the skill set for every position in the infield especially is quite different. AM has to play 1st and I have seen Haley there for a couple of years and she cant carry AMs jock strap. She is ok but just ok. Outfield is more than adequate with RF rotation ok . If CA does not get right our chances of much a run is very much diminished! Matty is matty and we have know that for 4 years. AR has saved our bacon especially since Gabbys complete loss of pitching last year killed us this year. JMHO as always!!

Yep, this is the INF I think we should have nailed down weeks ago. Osbron and Phillips are FR and giving them the time to settle into their positions before the hard stretch of SEC play would have boosted their confidence. Weimer can switch out at C, but Osbron's the best option at SS. Moving Leach and Seggern has created problems. How to handle Bearden, Ayala and Parsons is the issue. Def need Morgan at 1B and Holcomb in LF, and Hannon is holding down CF. Holcomb isn't getting called out so that's working for us.

Well I am thinking that Haley don handle lefty pitchers well and at this time I do not see Parsons as much help. Amanda can do ok with both pitchers. She would start for me and Haley DP or vice versa. The other can DP and even Rogers should get some bats as DP. She is a good hitter and it will show more she get the chance. Haley does ok in RF but scares me every time I see a ball hit her way. The missing piece all year has been out best outfield Holcomb where she was disciplined enough to keep that foot on the line. Doing better but last night had one where it was over a little. Parsons certainly can PH and Weimer is our best defensive catcher and has experience and Matty prefers her . She will never throw out a base runner and I am surprised she was not taught how to throw years and years ago. She has hit some but set this way a while and lets get our pitchers squared away. JMHO as always!

That last Auburn game saved our rear ends in the ranking I think. A loss would have put us out of top 10 all the way around. The way we have played lately this is pretty good. MS State will not be easy to sweep and hopefully we can at least get a series win. Pray the pitchers get it done cause as Ralph always says: THEY CALL THIS GAME FAST PITCH AND THAT IS THE ANSWER!!

Miss St has two players with 18 home runs each and we have to make sure they don't get a chance to beat us with runners on base. After those two one girl has seven and not anything to be scared about after that. Their pitching is average at best but I thought that about Arkansas and they managed to shut us down more than expected. Fagan is their one lefthanded pitcher so we'll definitely see her. They have a 25 rpi so us being at home we really need the sweep. Must win 2 of three losing this series would be devastating to our hope for a Super Regional at home. We play no top ten rpi teams the rest of the season on the year we are 4 and 3 versus top 10 rpi teams.

Boy I would love to have two players with 18 Hrs . Sounds like a pipe dream!! Don't know we will ever get to that number but we got what we got! If we don't get pitching and streak hitting worked out fast the SR at home may be a pipe dream as well.
Thanks good info!!

Selectively walk the power girls and sure don't intentionally or otherwise walk people in front of them! Love this team but we are going to have to go on some sort of roll to get back in the home super regional picture. We can do it and it seems counter-intuitive the key to that is our hitting. Better hitting means less pressure in the circle and won't name names but we know who doesn't handle pressure and who does. Put on our seat belts and lets ride!

UGA is an even bigger HR threat than MSST and it's OTR. All of our pitchers are susceptible-- 12 HRs given up by Moss, 12 by Arnold and 7 by Rogers this year. Rogers has pitched more innings and regroups quickly, so she's the safest bet against power hitters.

Rogers has been a pleasant surprise but she looks like her stuff would be conducive to giving up taters. She tops out around 65 and she throws her high rise a lot. As teams lay off that more and more and she has to come down in the zone that ends up being kind of a flat 65 MPH pitch at the belt. I would expect her numbers to rise with the grind of the SEC just like Moss and Arnold. She gave up a HR every 25 innings before conference play began and now she's giving up a HR every 9 innings in SEC play. We'll see if she can adjust, this year and next. Remember Moss gave up 7 HR as a freshman and Arnold gave up 4 HR as a freshman. Now they give them out like candy

Caylan is the mystery to me!!! Has not looked comfortable for a full game yet. Matty is Matty and Ashley has saved our hides this year. If and its a big IF all of them can keep the ball low in the zone more often it would give us a better chance but they do not call their own pitches so may be impossible. Of course you never know what the ump is going to call from pitch to pitch. JMHO as always!

The camera isn't zoomed in enough. It's pulled back so far you can see 2nd base in the picture during pitches. Phooey
