Not a fan of the slap hitters.....It was bad enough before the new rules, now, forget about it.
In travel its not as strictly enforced partly because parks rarely re line the fields and after the 1st game of the day there is no batters box. It does get called from time to time, but not often. The hypocritical thing I see is the aggressive hitter who basically sets up in the front of the box never gets called

at third and you are right. actually struck out I remember a couple of times yesterday
She’s struck out a ton this year....... she has struck out as many times already this year as she did the entire season last year....... granted we have played a harder schedule this year and faced some really good pitchers.

I have given Holcomb grief this year but she has turned it around at this point. Leach is such a great hitter and player coach but she seemed to be in fog with the runner at third with one out.

I think she has SO 17 times this year and last it was 18 and soph year it was 21 and freshman 22. I am not sure that this year has been or will be any harder by all that is said and done but she is on pace to go well past 22.

Up next Arkansas who is basically a two pitcher team Storms and Haff. Haff has given up 7 homers in around 93 innings pitched. Storms 3 homers in 100 innings. Both throw strikes do not walk batters. This will be a good series hoping for the sweep but must get 2 of 3 at home first game Friday at 4 pm est. A positive is both of their top pitchers are righthanders so we can load up the lefties on them. Something like Leach, Ayala, Seggern, Bearden, Morgan, and Hannon drop righties Phillips and Osbron to 7 and 8 then back to Holcomb. 7 lefties against their righthanders.

Good looking lineup! I would be surprised if Phillips drops but the way Osbron has gone lately very possible. At least both players usually are going to get some good hacks in rather than watch strikes go by. This will be a Hog fight this weekend. I am very impressed with their coach! JMHO as always!

Is Ayala sick or in the doghouse? Her playing time has really dropped the last few games. Anyone know any info?

Not sure it is either one. She seems to be the odd one out right now since Haley and Hannon has stepped up and with the glove and revived ( I hope ) Holcomb just no where to put her. She is a better offensive player than defensive but she can play. This year more so than any I remember if feeling is if you don't hit NOW you don't get many chances until someone slumps. JMHO as always!

Ralph doesn't like to use pitchers as hitters even when we go up against a lefthander. Rogers hit .544 in high school and her last season had 7 homers and 32 RBI's think she would make a good dh against a lefty but I understand the risk factor of injury that may not be worth the risk.

Would be great to have Rogers' bat... but keeping her healthy is a must. She's a workhorse, pitching almost as many innings as Moss and Arnold combined. Her 1.31 ERA is by far the best of our pitchers-- and only a few spots behind Barnhill's 1.29. This FR class is really making an impact. If only we didn't lose Shipman for the year...
