Bet she doesn't have Faw's arm. She saved alot of runs ...
You and I are in the minority, like maybe the only 2, that thinks Faws fielding at SS is worth a spot in the lineup. Everyone is hung on the hitters right now because how poorly this team hit, understand that view. My point for keeping her in the lineup is you can pinch hit for her anytime and still get the solid D.

Bella Faw, as our defensive shortstop is spectacular, but her anemic batting average of around 202, can not be acceptable to the Lady Vols staff.....Someone has got to teach this girl to hit college pitching....She has to find it within herself to rise above it...No fear, hit the ball...You can do it!

Faw is our best option at SS and she isn’t the reason we lose games at the plate.

I’ve had a love hate relationship with Bella Faw the player, on one hand her defense has gotten miles better almost Gold Glove like, and on the other hand her bat is anemic. All things considered, I really do think she would at least be an average hitter if the coaches did not ask her to bunt a majority of the time at the plate. Whenever she’s been allowed to swing away you can see some potential and I think what we ask her to do really stunts her development.

I will say the couple of ABs she had her freshman year against Missouri before her injury looked really good. If she can get back to those swings I think she’ll be more a competitive hitter

Sure hope you are right. 🤞🏻 If we have both Sage and Nuwer, add another strong pitcher, don’t lose any other regular players from this season, then go hard in the portal to add some consistently productive hitters, we should be in decent shape to get back to AT LEAST as far as we got this season next season.

Yeah, I know. That is asking A LOT. It is. But it’s not that far-fetched to think it could happen.
May be far fetched (?) but that is exactly what has to happen if we're going to knock on the door again in '27...Anything less and we'll wind up in the same spot we've always been...

Can't blame tall he terrible hitting of the team, but she show that she presently, is not a
SEC SS. one has to score runs to win any ball game and We just plain failed to score enough to win. We won more than our share of games while scoring 2-3 runs but we lost a high number of games while giving up 4 or more runs. It seemed the more critical it was to score runs near the end of the season, the fewer we scored.

The clutch hitting and run scoring trended downwards all year. Makes one wonder what the issue is. I’m inclined to believe there is a mantra of “this won’t cut it in the SEC and post season” that pervades the dugout and continues to haunt Karen. It’s almost like she wills it into existence. Definitely a topic the team should completely avoid.

I also sense a one size fits all approach as opposed to allowing successful approaches more leeway even if unconventional. Whatever worked before they arrived or they wouldn’t have been a portal target.

Mega delurk! Welcome back! 🤗 Great that you should drop a post.
Have you ever considered that maybe people lurk because they like being in the background, unnoticed, but then the first thing you do is draw attention to them as having been lurkers? lol

Sure. Having been drawn to my attention for consideration, i’ll err on the side of friendly engagement! Last thing i would want to do is foist my insecurities upon others. 😉🤙🏼🧡

Edit: BTW, they just posted over in the baseball forum! 🥰🤙🏼

Wow! 4.5 GPA! Can’t wait until Karen and Craig get a chance to fix her approach at the plate… 🤨

She's having another phenomenal year this season. Through June 2nd, Hodges was 12-0 with a 0.07 ERA (just 1 earned run) and 256 strikeouts to 10 walks across 105 innings while slashing .562/.639/1.396.
