If Ashley really couldn’t go after a day of rest and only throwing 75 pitches then we were never going to win the title. And we were load managing her all year long too. Too bad we couldn’t have had a healthy ace this year.

I just don’t like the message starting KP and then bringing in Charli sends. I love both but not using your two best pitches in the biggest game of the season so far send the wrong message. It sends the message that we’re fine with not winning today. And I hate that. Even the announcers are very confused.

We’re gambling. If we don’t win today, we’ll have to play an extra game, which doesn’t save our pitchers. I’m guessing we wanted to play the teams in the other side of the bracket, which probably will leave OK and Stanford to fight it out in this part of the bracket.

Only time will tell how this will work out, and we can still win today, but it feels a little disappointing at the moment. OK is disgusting.

We all want to win but it looks like OU is just too good. Ridiculous for a team in today’s softball environment to go an entire year losing only one game.

Everyone is thinking too short sigthed. What happens if you start Ashley and lose today? If you get back to the champ series they've seen your best. They're hiding Ashley and Payton and playing for the easier rode to Monday night.

Maybe I’m crazy but there’s no justification to saving Ashley or Payton but everyone wants to say that. Maybe we should’ve never got off the bus because maybe Kiki could get hurt this game and won’t have her for the loser bracket game. If that’s the case you shouldn’t be starting starters period then. Saving our pitchers for what??? If we lose again we are done. I’m glad we are playing to keep pitchers fresh for the flight back to Tennessee. PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

Karen hasn’t gotten in her own way this year until now. This game plan isn’t it.

Then you went best on best. You play to win today, not worry about if you lose.

This is the fear-based, scarcity mindset that Karen is demonstrating (and that I’ve watched her demonstrate through most of our CWS appearances.)

Notice the back-to-back champs playing their freshman backup pitchers in a huge game? No, of course not.
