Here is the SC pitching staff overall a over 3 era and their best pitcher has a 1.75. She does walk a lot of hitter 55 in 95 innings. We need to show more patience a walk is fine. G swung at one on the ground and then one over her head last night. Would've been on with a walk as would a few batters if they hadn't went for the bad pitches.

At this point, let’s win regular season conference and that should secure us a top 8 seed. At that point I’m not overly concerned about winning SEC tourney. By our regional though, we do need to have our pitching and hitting (mostly concerned about that) in sync. On another note, my weather app is showing some possible rain forecast for Fri and Sat,(67% and 62%) hopefully nothing to worry about but IF we play a doubleheader Sunday those can be tricky. Of course it may show bright and sunny in a few hours.

Agree and I was puzzled by the dictum by Karen for the team to be more agressive .This resulted in several batters swinging at unhittable pitches way out the strike zone ,

Hate to say this because I believe Karen has done a stellar job this season but IMO she was flat outcoached in this Arky series along with her questionable lineups.

We need to "snap and clear" (always hated that because of Butch) and move on but I will confess there is a sense of foreboding with the regional looming (bought my tickets a few minutes ago!). Arkansas coach is one of the best (not that hard an observation) to pitch the junk/sinker pitcher. Everyone else in the league seems to have little trouble hitting these type pitchers cause their ERA's are fairly high. The pitcher from Ole Miss was probably the worst. If we keep with the hitting decline it won't matter. Pickens last night missed with one pitch to their best hitter and that was all it took (she wasn't a slapper cause that pitch would have resulted in no real damage). Not a lot of options with the injuries but the lineup has to be better going forward. Good coaches will just work around our better hitters. We need to bring in someone or set our machines to junk cause that is what we will see in the regional. Kiki and Boo having an off weekend was the end us. Still, go win the conference and hope the committee doesn't use the really out of whack rpi as the main criteria for seeding this year.

How did you order tickets already? I am planning on getting my sister and I tickets (coming down from Ohio) but not sure how to go about getting tickets.

It’s always being “outcoached” as the reason when any Vol team gets beat. Lazy, old and tired hot takes IMO.

Newsflash! UT sports teams play in the most competitive conference in the country. Sometimes the other team plays better and you just get beat. Not the end of the world or time to start changing everything.

Season ticket holders were offered a link to pre-order Knoxville regional tickets. I ordered mine also.
If you are inquiring about South Carolina series tickets, UT ticket office said walk-up tickets are still available. You can contact them at (865) 656-1200. If you are talking about NCAA Knoxville regional tickets, the selection show is May 14 and the UT ticket office said tickets go on sale at 10 am on May 15. Contact them at the above number.

Newsflash!! And sometimes you get beat because your coach was out-coached by the opposing one. It was more than they just got beat. If you could not see the areas where this was apparent then you do not know much about softball strategy. They were pretty obvious. AND like I said in my post not trashing Karen, just saying she could have done a lot more to have helped her team in the areas they were struggling.

Bingo, no bench is a concern. I thought it was just fine moving G in the lineup. We had several chances to score last game, but we didn't.

My fear is the SEC champion may not earn a top 8 seed. RPI has always closely (for the most part) mirrored national seeding. The national narrative seems to be "it's a down year in the SEC" and the NCAA will use that to push other conferences into hosting positions in an attempt to "grow the game." I could see Duke as an 8 seed and TN as a 9 based on my rationale listed (if the season were to end today).

Game 2 and 3 biggest issue to me was leaving 8 and 7 runners on base. Out hit them last night and tied with 7 hits in game 2. One swing was the difference last night and we couldn’t scratch runs when we had our chances.

As someone noted season tickets holders got an email and you could go ahead and buy the regional. Should be tickets available on allvols.com when it is official just get in early.

SC at 39th in RPI won't hurt our RPI unless we lose the series. They have faltered down the stretch in SEC play, but they do have series wins over FL, swept A&M, and won 1 over BAMA while losing another 2-1. This is a very dangerous team coming to town, knowing that we will already be playing tight with the title on the line.

What's the saying, "Pressure makes diamonds." We're about to see what we are made of. Either diamonds or big chunks of coal.

Yeah pitching was pretty stellar give Payton and Pickens any runs and we walk away with a sweep.

Yet Karen did change things last night. I too think she has done a really good job this year, but last night especially we got out coached, mainly outhit. End of the world? No but just because a take is cliche doesn’t make wrong. No clutch hits would be the main reason we lost.

Sequencing…

Something will have to give if we take the series this weekend. We have been consistently in the top 5 in the polls but Rpi hates us. Winning the toughest overall conference has to count right? We will see.
