Tennessee should have kept Phil Fulmer (orlandosent.com)

lane kiffin finds it okay to have these kinds of players in his program!!!!!!!!!!

Yes he does - Reggie was named a 2002 Parade All-American (and the top running back), USA Today All-USA first team, Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, Student Sports All-American first team, Tom Lemming All-American, The Insiders.com All-American second team, Tom Lemming Super Team, Super Prep Elite 50, Prep Star Top 100 Dream Team, The Sporting News Hot 100, FOX Sports 50, Tom Lemming Top 100, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Tom Lemming All-West, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 first team, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, All-CIF San Diego Section first team, San Diego Union-Tribune Offensive MVP and All-Grossmont South League Offensive MVP pick as a senior running back at Helix High in La Mesa (Calif.)...He ran for 1,691 yards on 140 carries (12.1 avg.) with 27 TDs in 2002 despite missing 4 games with a broken wrist...Helix advanced to the CIF San Diego Section Division II finals...As a junior in 2001, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass first team and All-CIF San Diego Section first team Offensive MVP...He ran for 2,200-plus yards, averaged 36.4 yards per rushing touchdown, scored 204 points (on 34 TDs, including 6 on receptions and 2 on punt returns) and had 3,135 all-purpose yards in 2001...He made the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomore first team in 2000...In his career, he ran for 4,995 yards (averaging 12.0 a carry) and scored 450 points...He also competed in track at Helix, placing third in the 2002 California state 100 meters final and posting bests of 10.42 in the 100 (the fastest prep time in California in 2002 and the fastest among the nation’s 2002 senior footballers) and 21.06 in the 200 meters...Current Trojan Travis Watkins also attended Helix...He covered the 2003 Super Bowl as a reporter for NFLHS.com.

We got owned by Old Miss and Va Tech. He played ball against Alabama. We failed to get in FG range for that last kick. We lost to UCLA and Alburn. They should not have beat us at home. We beat Georgia. YIPPEEEE. Glad to see him gone.

You might be looking back at that season as "the good ole days" for quite some time.

Sort of like what happened throughout Fulmer's entire tenure and what's already happened in Dooley's first year? Sort of like what's happened consistently to super saint Mark Richt?

when the only bad things people seem to talk about is what happened at tennessee you tend to get a little mad ..... if not for these sec school investigations people would still be taking blows at us

Yeah, if things get any worse they might create an award for the most law-violating school and name it after our head coach.

The article indicates ignorance on the part of the writer about all three coaches.

Fulmer had lost control of the team and had been passed by. I appreciate his contributions. I supported the chance he got to right the ship- that was proper. But when the trigger was pulled it was definitely time.

Kiffin got under the skin of alot of people in the SEC but to act like he didn't do anything good is ludicrous.

The guy acts as if he hasn't even read Dooley's resume. There are things that are definitely better than just not being Kiffin.

All in all... the article is a pretty worthless use of space and time.

I have defended fulmer to a large degree, but it was time for him to go.

I don't understand how an alumnus who made good is soooo despised by a large portion of the fan base.

From everything to his weight to his accent. I have seen plenty of tennessee people say he "sounds stupid". I shake my head because he is a tennessean with a tennessee accent. Way to insult yourselves.

The only thing I used to think was foolish was how he'd hold up 1 finger after a td for the extra point in a situation where it was obvious to kick the extra point.

I just don't understand the hate. Is it because of majors?

Christ-you again. Anyone care what the Florida fan thinks? Anyone?.....oh-you there, just scratching your nose I see.

Of course Florida wishes he was still here. What was Phil's record against them again?

I think just like alot of people CPF was a good coach but one thing killed him. He lost the fire to keep making a name for himself! He didn't have the same desire to compete in 2007 that he had in 1997! X and O's were probally still there but DESIRE wasn't. He got passed by and in turn the game passed him by!

pretty much every coach I've seen does that

yeah not really but I guess facts don't really matter

What are these so called "facts" that you speak of?

I have never heard of such a thing. I thought that anyone was basically allowed to make any accusations that they want about anyone else and it be true as long as the media covered it and the story made it to either television or at the least a blog on a non"biased" website...

Really???? You are serious???? Because I was pumped as hell to know Lane was getting what he deserved!!!!! And any UT fan would probably have atleast a little happiness knowing it was Lane as well
Unlike the majority on here, I was over Lane shortly after we hired Dooley. I really don't care what he does because it has nothing to do with the Vols.

Or as foolish as Gator fans telling us we should have kept Fulmer.

if you could read, you would see in my post where i wrote it was time for fulmer to go.

just so you know, i don't anticipate losing to tennessee very often regardless of who tennessee has as its head coach.
