Tennessee Athletics has earned its second straight SEC All-Sports title, presented by USA Today Network, as the Vols and Lady Vols finished first in both the men's and women's standings for the first time. "I'm so proud of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and all the fans and donors who support us," Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White said said White. "This is a team accomplishment, and everyone plays an important role. We are just getting started on Rocky Top, but this early success gives us the confidence to keep building!"

The rise to the top for Tennessee Athletics coincides with White taking over the department's lead in 2021.

2022-23 Men's All-Sports Standings: 1. Tennessee 2. Florida 3. Alabama 4. Georgia 5. Texas A&M 6. Arkansas 7. Kentucky 8. LSU 9. Vanderbilt 10. Auburn 11. Mississippi State 12. Missouri 13. Ole Miss 14. South Carolina.

2022-23 Women's All-Sports Standings: 1. Tennessee 2. Florida 3. Georgia 4. LSU 5. Alabama 6. Arkansas 7. South Carolina 8. Texas A&M 9. Auburn 10. Ole Miss 11. Kentucky 12. Vanderbilt 13. Mississippi State 14. Missouri.

I think a vast majority of people on here would disagree with this.

Hundreds of thousands of Tennessee faithful are bragging all year when we beat UF and Alabama in football. The same is not true for any other sport. And you could combine all the pride and bragging done by Tennessee fans of other sports and it wouldn't come close to all the pride derived from success in football.

Nobody bragged when our men's basketball team beat #1 Alabama? Nobody bragged when our baseball team swept Vandy? Nobody bragged when our softball team won both the regular season and tournament championships? LMAO, Ok............

Amazing what you can do when you hire a professional AD and not just some good ole boy who does not know what he is doing.
This is well beyond just hiring a professional AD.

There are 65 ADs in the Power 5. The majority of them are career professionals. Heck, John Currie (formerly in Knoxville, now at Wake Forest) is a professional AD.

This is a rock star. This is the home run hire. Donde Plowman broke the 2-hour marathon when she hired White. She accomplished the equivalent of the football team going 15-0, unbeaten AND unscored upon.

We need to keep Dan White 40+ years, because he has no peer competition. A once-a-century talent. The AD version of General Neyland.

I predict important landmarks in Knoxville will one day bear his name. Anything not already called Neyland or Summitt is in the realm of possibility.

Go Vols!

It doesn’t matter how many people are watching at the time, these young people are working their asses off to play their chosen sport. UT ,as an institution, has given most of them scholarships to represent not only themselves, but also the Volunteers. In doing that, they also are representing the alumni, both past and present. Their efforts elevate us all. The collective achievements of all UT athletes deserve our best support. Do not devalue it. If it doesn’t matter, the SEC would not keep track of it. Our athletes are the overall best in the SEC. We should all tip our hats to them.

Or a former coach that quit his team mid season to go the team we were playing in a bowl game, then made some questionable decisions in said game that caused us to lose, then on top of that, ran an Amway type of scam enterprise while AD.

This is very impressive and its great to be back. Reminds me of the late mid-late 80s/90s when we were good at basically everything except for men's basketball, and even it had some moments.

I agree with a lot of what you said here, but you should probably slow down with the talk of landmarks... It is still really early.
