It absolutely does matter what the Team and Fans think, proactively, so I like your attitude Orange defense -- at this point, it doesn't matter what I thought we wouldn't accomplish last season (8 SEC losses), but this year, it absolutely matters what the Team and Fans think we can accomplish this season, and we have a Coach now.

No it really doesnt matter. In in the end, the players have to execute what the coaches teach them. Thats it. What the fans think about UT football ultimately doesnt matter.

There secondary is weak. I think we exploit that on defense, and we can stop them. I think we have better running backs this year, than Georgia. I think our defense can rattle Fromm this year. In areas, that you think not, we are better than them, and Pruitt will make the necessary adjustments to win this game.
To me, it doesn’t matter about the recruits this year, because they are younger than us. We have a lot more experience than them. That alone starts us out really good. I wonder what else this staff has up under their sleeves to prepare for Florida and Georgia?:peace2:

I believe Kirby’s rising Sophomores were ranked around 3rd overall right? That’s much better than our 2017 class.

You've got a renovation coming shortly to Neyland. Let's hope that means they are finished with the idea of being the biggest and the smallest at the same time.

Fan interaction is the way to go if you want them to come. If anyone here enjoyed your trip to the "Birds Nest" in Atlanta that's the way it should go. Arthur Blank got with football fans and built a stadium for them. Even the menus and pricing reflects that family-friendly theme. Imagine that?

This is true, very good prices at the Benz compared to everywhere else. Braves game is $5 for the small hot dog and $8 for the jumbo. Same $8 for a “souvenir” drink.

Edit: do you know what the new seating compacity will be?

We are the 13th or 14th team in the SEC, Arkansas is the only team we might be ahead of in the SEC, we are behind Vandy and Kentucky in the East in the old days i was one of the fans that thought we could take a bunch of 3 stars and beat 4 star teams it doesn't work that way i don't care how good the staff is JP has his work cut out for him the next 2 years, this team might win 5 games if lucky we are way low in talent and a young team to go with 3 star talent with a few 4 stars spread around a little and the ones that don't think stars matter and youth to go with that will be in for a big let down.:thud:BOYS keep your head up Basketball season will be here before you know it, plus they let you hit a liittle in BB.:eek:hmy:We are TENNESSEE the new Basketball power in the SEC.:dance2:

We beat West Virginia and we start next week @ #25 exactly the following week. West Virgina is a Play-Off dark horse.
That would be nice. If I were ranking Tennessee, I am not putting them in the top 25 unless they make it past Florida undefeated.

Where are people getting the WVa is soft narrative? Lots of pundits are predicting Holgerson to have the top offense in the country. With our defensive backfield and lack of a true nose tackle for Pruitt's 3-4, the mountaineers will easily hang half a hundred on us.

Nobody says their offense is soft but their defense ranked way below us last year statistically.

I am surprised we are ranked ahead of Vandy and UK. To see teams like Middle Tennessee and Troy ranked ahead of us should make every Vol fan absolutely sick. Thanks Butch.

Me too. Vandy absolutely owns us and Kentucky beat us last year, after hanging 36 points and 635 yards on us the year before. This ain’t your daddy’s “Tennessee owns Vandy and Kentucky” anymore.

That won't matter much in this game our offense was hot garbage last year and won't be much better this year. WVU will beat UT easily and put up 38 or more, Will Grier should be on people's preseason heisman list.

Always enjoy these pollsters, talking heads, experts. When they turn out to be wrong its a smile and a chuckle no big deal. Let em stagger around and get something right and you'll hear about it for a month.

If we can start off on a good note and beat West Virgina, we would have a chance to get back on the national scene and have good momentum for the season. This offense going to put up points this year.

UGA’s secondary was their weak link last year, which was pretty common knowledge since they were shredded a few times. I don’t think UT can match up with UGA’s talent at RB, but I do think UT has the edge at receiver again this year. I said the same thing before the game last year. If UT wins it’s because they utilize Callaway and Jennings (this year, obviously not last year), but I believe the issue again will be UT’s QB. People make a big deal about Chubb and Michel leaving, but I believe UGA’s offense won’t change much. Stuff the run and make plays through the air will be the recipe to beat UGA just like last year.

I agree. I feel certain that this year's offense won't be as predictable as it's been over the past 5 years.

Just the number of different formations used during the O&W game is enough to cause DCs to lose sleep.

For year's DCs could watch film and jump plays consistently. That would make the next play even more predictable. Sure there were times they would guess wrong, even then we wouldn't make them pay.

From coaching alone we will be a better team than last year.

West Virgina should also be better.

Who did West Virginia beat by 38 points last year??

No team will EVER....
EVER!...Beat TN by 38 points while Pruitt is coach here...

The only thing that matters is to recruit better than the other SEC programs and right now we’re 9th I think in the SEC. I know it’s early but doesn’t matter if Saban was our coach he doesn’t win without superior talent. We’re a mediocre program as long as we recruit mediocre SEC talent. So 66 or 26 doesn’t really matter unless we recruit..
