Tennessee players invited to NFL combine

Don't know if there was already a thread about this yet (if so merge) but the following UT players were invited to this year's NFL combine:

DT Malik Jackson

RB Tauren Poole

SEC players invited to NFL combine - SEC Blog - ESPN

This reemphasizes the talent void on the team last fall. I think you will see the same issue concerning Vol seniors at the combine next year. Who can we reasonably expect out next season's senior class to be a legitimate NFL player?

The only savinggrace will be that we have enough talent and experience in the junior and sophomore classes to compete. If some of those juniors come out, it will add to the number of Vols next year.

Janzen wasn't even a starter for McNeese State.

Just killing time to enter the draft...didn't want to get hurt at McNeese State. Nothing to prove. I predict that he will be an early second rounder...if he can pass the drug tests.

Just demonstrates how bad the overall talent was in 08-09 on the team..

Yep, Phil got some bad advice on that 2008 class. Makes you wonder if Cutcliffe was doing a lot of the picking on offense. Chavis was hands-off at that point as well. Getting old and slow is sad. With a few exceptions, those recruiting trails are a young man's sport.

Since UF was right in there with you having only three invitees, I was kinda hopin' it meant that we both had young teams.

I think it really speaks volumes of the talent of the players on the team...

When you a lot of nfl prospects on your team, you win a lot of games...

On second thought, I am afraid you are correct. The order of invitees pretty much follows the finish in the league

Alabama
LSU
Georgia
USCe
Arkansas
MSU
Auburn
UF
Ole Miss
Vandy
UT
Kentucky

Bama continues to have the best classes therefore they will more than likely have more Pro prospects...sucks,but the numbers prove it
