This is why I can't stand Butch Jones and his doublespeak when it comes to expectations.

He keeps downplaying it while saying OWN IT.

Makes him look weak and pathetic.

I really wish Shoop was the head coach. He's confident and not afraid to say it's about winning championships.

:eek:lol:...you're just too damn funny for your own good...:)
weak and pathetic...I think not, but that's just me...:yahoo:

GO VOLS!

I don't really listen to what the coaches say that much, except for maybe Shoop because he is the newcomer and sees everything from an outside perspective, because most coaches don't sit in front of the mic and tell everyone in the world how they really feel. What I do know is that Butch has gotten enough talent on this roster to finally compete for a championship and that's what I care about. I could care less what he says in a presser or an interview because quotes don't win you anything except the offseason. Shoop has only been here throughout the offseason and he himself said all the heavy lifting was done before he arrived. That is a direct reflection of the great job Butch has done to this point and after the previous decade I'm exciting as hell. It's called coach speak so get over yourself and support "your team" Mr. Fairweather. If not, Nashville isn't that far away. I hear they could use more fans like yourself.

Only way I read posts by D4H is when he/she/it is "quoted". Why? His on the big IGNORE. :hi:

I'm finally to a breaking point with D4H so I just ignored as well. I'm all for people having an opinion and debating but when you continually state that you weren't a fan up until last year just because we weren't good you should be banned from this site. It's people like D4H that give us true Vol fans a bad rep.

And just like that the Butch Jones fanboys arrive. Stop defending his cowardice.

Everyone else on the team from the players to assistant coaches like Bob Shoop are saying it's about winning the national title this season.

Butch Jones on the other hand keeps downplaying expectations. His personality disgusts me. Just like I was disgusted when he went for a FG on the 6 inch line against Oklahoma.

I wish he would stop coaching scared. Embrace the expectations and embrace the moment when bold action is required.

He's too scared of the moment. And I fear that might hurt us in a big game or big moment eventhough we have the talent to win.

Guys please be careful with this keyboard gangster...he might bust a cap lock on us

Just ban him.

The guy is a lot more knowledgable than most others here. He's not afraid to win like most of you and he doesn't blindly follow a coach that hasn't won anything yet. He knows what Tennessee has and what we are capable of and its time for Jones to quit ***** footin around and put some teams in body bags.

He lost all credibility when he bragged about being a fair weather fan.

A bandwagon fan is a bandwagon fan. I can admit he has more knowledge of the game then some here. But that doesn't mean much when you admit your only a fan because of the NFL talent. Vol fans are a special breed and you sir will never be a VFL

Why do you guys put others on the ignore list anyway? Is reading someone's thoughts miles away on an electronic device too much for you to handle? 😵

Takes the urge to confront out of the equation. His schtick is still goofy but doesn't carry much when quoted. Nothing to "handle"...just a handy feature. :)

Exactly! That clown plus a few more get ignored by me. I come here to read about my team and I like to have a pleasant experience. If I want negativity, I'll go to Facebook.

He is the coach of a major football program. He gets paid to be a politician as well as a coach. This doesn't change. Deal with it. :eek:lol:

To go around claiming you have won when a game hasn't been played is dumb, Butch is smart and just bc he didn't buy a lottery ticket and quit his job you hate on him but you should let me know how it works out

We've got a couple of "smart" fans throwing tantrums because they didn't get the right answer in an interview. The funny part is that it never dawns on them that reacting to coachspeak is about as fanboy as it gets.
