According to ESPN’s tweet, Tennessee’s game against Pittsburgh was the second most-watched game of the entire weekend. Additionally, it was also the most viewed game on the ESPN networks during that stretch. The Vols and Panthers drew an absolutely astounding 4.5 million viewers

It was one of the better hard fought games last weekend and to me THE BEST GAME TO WATCH (while there were a few other good ones). I was impressed with the defensive improvements in that game. Had we not been able to get to the QB as many times as we did, the second half could have been different had their first QB not started the 3rd and 4th quarters. But....That is football and what can happen to any team in any given game. Go VOLS!!! Proud of ya in getting that win!!

On a side note, I don't recall seeing any of our players getting hurt (but several of theirs) during that game. Did I miss that (if it happened)?

The only problem with this is ESPN and all others of their "northern persuasion" will say it was all Pittsburg that they brought in viewers from all over the country. Never saying a word about the Vol followers that show up all over the world.:D

Pitt plays second fiddle (or even third since the penguins get more love) in their own town. We all know how ridiculous that claim would be. 😂

They couldn't even fill a 68K stadium for the Tennessee game (a top 25 matchup), that upper part was nearly empty. In contrast, TN is going to sell out Akron.

I remember everyone freaking out a couple of weeks ago about some lesser schools having a higher viewership than we did last year…

Checks out. The game was a great matchup, had storylines for Pitt unfolded, paired the two major conferences in football, and went to OT. I like watching those as a fan of the team and a general football fan.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind a reoccurring game with Pittsburgh after the last two games unfolded. It's way better to watch than Ball State.
