No surprise.

It'd be a letdown if they don't win the regular season SEC title.
did it feel as weird to type that as it did for me to read it....i'm still getting used to UT basketball as something to get excited about.

same for me. all the years growing up here and not expecting much of anything to happen...and now everyone is expecting so much. it's actually nice.

Tennessee should dominate the SEC east. Uf lost all of their talent and UK is rebuilding with a new coach. UT's goal: #1 seed.

I wouldn't exactly call the SEC east a run over...yes there's not much talent the but the coaching level is almost like it is in SEC football...I expect the two Billys to be legit contenders in the east.

To the extent that I keep up with college basketball at all I'll lend to the Vols whatever support I have left after supporting the knights of Macon.

Anything less than winning the SEC East should be considered a failure this season

Not by me. Strange things can happen in basketball. As long as they make the NCAA and advance to the sweet 16 or beyond. They will have had a great season.

What? Given the number of games one would assume that unlikely outcomes happen less often than in football. Limited games would lead to more flukish results, IE football. This season will be a huge disappointment if we can't find a way to win the East. It shouldn't even be close. We might lose some games along the way because we're dependent upon outside shooting and TOs, but we should win the vast majority.

as we have seen in recent years, Florida doesn't rebuild, they reload in bball and football...they won't be terrible this year with speights inside and their freshman stud Calathas (sp?) I expect Tenn to win the sec, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

Also, I expect Dennis Felton's squad to be much better than 5th. It wouldn't surprise me to see them finish 2nd or 3rd in the East.

Obviously, someone's not ready to raise the bar for our bb team.

I think they'll be the best team in the east, but I really don't care much about conference championships. They just don't mean what they used to.

Elite 8 (or beyond) is our goal.

Florida will finish in the back end of the SEC East. Also, Nick Calathes is grossly overrated.

we were picked to win the SEC by 28 of 30 writers. Miss St had the other 2 votes, most likely given by the Miss St writers I'd say
