If you listen to the yapping people around my neck of the woods the ONLY thing to ever go-to the super bowl went to school in Michigan......

Here is a nice little chart from CBS:

UGA and Bama are cute and all but the Vols are definitely the #1 SEC school! Go Vols!

Too bad the NFL has become the pile of poop in the world of televised athletics.

If this is supposed to be some kind of political commentary about this past season, how about you just give it a rest. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with politics.

I had read this before that we were number one in the SEC in Superbowl appearances. Probably on here just before another Superbowl in years past.

Yeah it really has. It’s been hijacked by a few bone heads and tarnished its image beyond repair I’m afraid. I watched a total of 1 game (only bits of it) and haven’t missed it one bit. And I’ve enjoyed the NFL for 50 years ....

Good news for a change! Hopefully we'll get back to kicking ass and taking names in the very near future, new staff and AD are reasons enough to be excited.

How about the best performances by a Vol in Super Bowl history? My memory only goes back as far as Super Bowl 15 (Raiders beat the Eagles) but this is what I can remember:

Jamal Lewis: Super Bowl 35 - 27 carries 102 yards 1 TD

Willie Gault: Super Bowl 20 - 4 catches 129 yards

Peyton Manning: Super Bowl 41 - 25/38 247 yards 1 TD 1 Int

Reggie White: Super Bowl 31 - 3 sacks

Jack Reynolds: Super Bowl 16 - Had a tackle on a goal line stand.

Mickey Marvin: Super Bowl 18 - Starting OG for the Raiders when they rushed for 233 yards vs the Redskins. Had a key block on Marcus Allen's iconic 75 yard cut
back run.

Alvin Harper: Super Bowl 28 - 3 catches 75 yards

Unfortunately, Peyton was never at his best in the SB but he was MVP of Super Bowl 41. Imo, Willie Gault should have been MVP of Super Bowl 20.

It has? Is that why Fox just signed a deal with the NFL to broadcast Thursday Night games for the next 5 seasons for an average of $550 million per year?

Some of the posts on here... :thud:

I knew it was a mistake to miss the State of the State address by Gov. Haslam. Did he atleast get a good deal for buying the SuperBowl. Can't wait to see Tennesseans reaction to this big state purchase.

The stat they are referring to in the article is players not appearances, that actually moves Tennessee up to #2 behind only Miami with 62 players.
