Tennessee orange paint

I'm gonna paint the Yeti letters on top and on the inside of the cooler, Tennessee Orange

I'm not sure a residential latex paint will be the best for that. Going over plastic might not work. You may need a plastic primer first. Definitely rough up the surface.

thanks, I did one letter, and it doesn't look great
, I'm gonna get a smaller brush, and probably need to use the primer

I need some help. My son wants one wall of his room painted Tennessee orange. *pats self on back for raising him right...........so far* The thing is finding the correct rgb code to match pms 151. One converter gives the hex number f77f00 with the rgb code 247/127/00. Another converter gives the hex number ff7900 with the rgb code 255/121/00. The colors vary slightly from one another. My thinking is if I am going to have it mixed, it may as well be right.

Anyone have any experience with these rgb codes? If so, how close is it to Tennessee orange? Anyone have any different rgb codes that you think is the right one?

I also know Home Depot sells/sold a Tennessee orange paint. Anyone know if they still sell it? If so, is it the right shade?

Thanks.

The utk site had the official hex and rgb for all colors Tennessee.

No problem, I painted my bedroom orange a couple years ago and I got tired of trying to match paint chips and I decided just to look it up.

I also painted a truck for Nascar Racing 2003 and I wanted the exact shade of orange.

VIA, here is a snap shot of the TN Orange paint mix tag from Home Depot. Notice on the tag that this is for BEHR oil based semi gloss. Also on the top of the tag is the Store #(0728). If your Home Depot can't figure it out, have them call on the store to store line and ask.

The bottom picture is the primer you need. It is an aerosol. For small areas, spray it into a cup and apply with an appropriate sized brush.

went over and picked it up tonight...
I went with a different primer, the guy said it was better on plastic, and would be easier to apply than the aerosol....

I hope do get it done Thursday night
The guy that mixed it up, looked at the codes, and said I'm not sure that's gonna turn out there's too much yellow, but it looks perfect
Thanks again...

If yeti was smart they'd offer this option and charge about 1/2 a jillion more for it. Would be worth the time and hassle.

The orange color was good, but even with the primer, it didn't take well to the plastic
