If Wes Lunt makes it to UT could He beat out Dobbs and Ferguson for the starting qb job? Wes Lunt was very good at Okla State until He got hurt early last season. I'd love to have a bunch of strong armed qbs fighing in out it out in a year or two for the starting qb job.

You can always transfer and sit out one year (once in your collegiate career). You can be eligible immediately if your current team releases you or the NCAA gives a case by case hardship waiver (moving closer to sick relative, etc). A coach can't stipulate where you go if you are willing to sit a year. He can entice you not to by offering to release you to an approved school and not sit.

Regardless, Lunt isn't coming here.

I think we need a couple of good RB's to transfer and not a QB. With Worley, Peterman, Dobbs and Ferguson I think we are good at QB for the near future.

Get us some good RB's to transfer, after that maybe a couple of LB's, OL, DL, and CB's.

Dobbs will not be our starting QB this year, if he is then we are in for a 5 and 7 or 4 and 8.:ermm:

I thought you could transfer anywhere you wanted and would sit one year unless you have an ncaa hardship. If you are not released for that school you cant go on scholarship for one year. You pay youre own way the first year.

The whole not being able to transfer without sitting out is BS. If a scholarship is only guaranteed for 1 year, and a coach can cut a player, then any player should be able to switch schools whenever they so choose.

Or, they could keep the current rules and guarantee athletic scholarships for 4 years.

There is no consistency and the amateur 20 year old athlete is the one that gets screwed, not the professional coach making millions of dollars to properly evaluate talent.

I see where you are coming from, but do you see where this could get ugly real quick?

For instance, Bama tells Cornwell "we're not going to take you this go around, but in a year, we'll be calling you if _______ doesn't work out, and if you're still wanting to come here, then we'll take you!"

And then, Cornwell commits here, let's say Kizer goes to Bama. Kizer tanks, we have a bad season, Saban calls Cornwell, Cornwell goes to Bama, and we're screwed.

It's like trading, but at the players discretion. I mean, it would completely ruin the collegiate game. At least this way, yes, if you wanted to, and the cards fell right, you could go where ever you wanted to, but there's a serious penalty attached for moving with no reason.

But I do see where you're coming from. But I see the benefit in the rule.

Then athletic scholarships should be guaranteed for 4 years. Nobody can get cut for not performing or make roster room for the next 5 star.

Allowing free agency in CFB would be a total disaster.

Sounds like you want and entirely new team!

Why would he go to Lovisville, they already got a bridge over the water, if you know what i mean, i think the orange and blue of Illinois got them a QB.:)

Because he has to sit out a year and many believe Bridgewater will leave after his JR year leaving Lunt to take over starting

A senior Peyton Manning couldn't beat out Josh Dobbs. That's the impression I'm getting round' hurr.
