Tennessee opens as +8.5 (underdogs) against Alabama

Hate to be the wet blanket but Bama probably isn’t as bad as we saw last game without young in there. And Tennessee probably isn’t as dominant as what we saw vs lsu. We can completely win this game but Bama should win. They have more talent, it’s even at most positions and they’re better on defense and at RB. I feel like we can hang in there for sure but there’s little areas that Bama is good enough to take advantage of. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a punt block by them.

Heupel is further along than even the most crazy optimists would’ve thought but idk that we win this game.

You are not a wet blanket and very realistic in your thoughts. This is Tennessee vs Alabama and it is hard to instill the rivalry into players that weren't even born when this was the Game of the South. I mean you have to go back 50 years almost to get the all week goosebumps when thinking about the game.

Since 1971 we are 14 - 35 (+ 2) Alabama wins vacated due to cheating. 1 vacated and 1 forfeited.

This year is different and our players have more confidence going into this game than they have since the early 2000s, there is Alabama blood in the water which makes this game different plus it is a home game which helps.

Saban + staff's play calling both on the offense and defense side of the ball will be an early indicator of his view regarding the game.
