Tennessee Now Selling Tickets to the General Public

I’m a season ticket holder so I was privy to the early sale of single game tickets. I wanted to get some Arkansas tickets for my cousin. The cheapest they had were $195 in the South upper deck.

Ridiculous. THAT’s the presale deal? That’s about the cost of Bama tickets last year in those sections.

He decided to hold off and see what he can find closer to the game.

These ticket prices are really getting out of hand. $195 for upper deck through the University is insanely high.

For an opponent that will likely have a losing record.
Again, supply and demand. It better than yrs past when we had a losing record.

UGA, Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, Oregon and others all have escalating ticket prices.

I dislike ticket sales going thru Ticketmaster vs the “old days.” But, I’m sure there is a reason why schools went this route.

Ticket Master and UT are making a killing. Syracuse tickets are over $300. My living room is free to attend. I'm sitting out actual attendance. Those thousands I spent during pre-Huepel suckdom. Are long forgotten by the university.

Truly passionate fans don't keep their season tickets and continue travel to Knoxville and to other cities to see games in the fall. They stay at home and post on message boards
Ticket prices are outrageous for most sports, concerts too.

I thought about going to Def Leppard concert but tickets were $250 plus fees, and that was for nose bleeds.

IMO, it’s all relative to what a person or family spends on entertainment. Purchasing TN football tix is the one thing I do for myself every year. And, I usually save the 2nd ticket since my wife rarely attends.

The season tickets I share with a friend are up to right at $7000 for 4, with our parking pass. I love UT football, but we may have to reconsider next year. Kids' sports, college, etc are really expensive and there aren't any money trees sprouting in my back yard.

This is the view I was expecting from those tickets.

We've had season tix since 1954 and gave 2 of our 4 back this year due to the exact same things you just said. We've been through getting screwed out of our original seats to "remodel for the wealthier people" a few years back. We finally had enough and said we'll keep 2 but if the cost continues to increase by ridiculous amounts, they can have those back as well.

If you’d start taking pharmaceutical company kickbacks, you may be able to afford the tickets.

sounds like some of you want subsidised tickets for these fans...if the stands are full then you have nothing to really complain about. Market conditions.
