Oh, Alabama fans arent going to be happy about this one.
But as many Tennessee fans have emailed me over the weekend, theres a new all-time winningest team SEC football history and the crown changed hands in the off-season of all times.
With Alabamas forced vacation of 21 wins between 2005 and 2007, Bama has now fallen into second place all-time in the SEC in wins and in winning percentage. (Thats overall wins, not just conference wins and losses.)
Since it was Tennessee fans who alerted me to this statistical flip-flop, I think you can guess which school grabbed the top spot.
So, as of today, here are your all-time standings in the Southeastern Conference by winning percentage with all-time each schools all-time W-L-T record listed to the right.

As you can see, if you rank the teams purely by all-time wins, the results would fall as follows:
1. Tennessee
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. LSU
5. Auburn
6. Florida
7. Arkansas
8. Ole Miss
9. Kentucky
10. Vanderbilt
11. South Carolina
12. Mississippi State
Youll also note that the only team in the SEC to have lost more games all-time than it has won is poor ol Mississippi State.
See, Bama fans, there is a worse feeling than falling from number one to number two. Theres the embarrassment of being the SECs all-time worst football program.
Now, heres one last statistical breakdown for you. Lets see how the numbers lay out since 1950 which in most cases is viewed as the beginning of the modern era.

Looks a little different doesnt it? And for the record, Vanderbilts post-1950 record is not only the worst in the SEC, its the worst in the nation. Congrats, Commodores.
