Tennessee & Nico Iamaleava are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season

What kind of practice is held before the scrimmage tomorrow. We will see if he's there tomorrow. Honestly I'm not concerned right now.
Heupel scheduled a fake practice just to leak to the media that Nico skipped it. Some serious negotiation tactics at play here!

InB4 this is nothing yet again.
My theory is that there's a mole or source within the AD that leaked something they shouldn't, and Nico is upset (like his dad) that his reputation is being drug through the mud.

Right/wrong/indifferent a LOT of fans have taken the On3 report yesterday as an opportunity to give their unfiltered thoughts about his perceived performance last year. I wonder if that could be a part of it.

Source is probably his agent who wants to do as much damage to force the issue.
Exactly. And if something was skipped it was probably a pretty inconsequential procedural walk through, which isn't good but its the broken system we have right now.

Regardless of rumors, 1 player is not worth setting a precedent of being strongarmed. Especially not a rostered, on-campus starter.

It would kill any locker room, recruiting staff, and NIL collective moving forward.

Yall listening to TB? He's got Adam Sparks on right now confirming Niko didn't go to practice today which was a walk thru. Sparks said he would have been available to media right after. It was one of a few scheduled times where media is told Niko will be available. Sparks said family is asking for $4 mil instead of $2.3 or whatever the yearly fee is. Also Sparks said staff was totally SHOCKED he didn't show up for the walk thru.

Would you like to back that claim up with facts? Nico had a higher completion %, better TD/Int ratio(by a lot) and a significantly better QBR.
Agreed. To say Lagway out performed Nico in every way is a very very long stretch. BUT, 6/8 SEC games Lagway had under 20 Attempts passing. Didnt even play in 1 of those games. Nico had 1 game that was under 20, that was the game he got hurt in. So technically, its not fair to compare the 2 at this time. Let them both get a full season under their belt as starting QBs then compare. Lagway shined at times for Florida but so did Nico.

Does anyone else old like me get a vision of Deep Throat in All the Kings Men imagining the inside source from the AD meeting a reporter under the stadium in the dark of night?

I don't think Nico's agent could credibly say "it was a surprise to staff and players" such that Chris Low would report it.

Low probably got info from inside the program itself to use the "surprise" line.
But he could have. "Nico surprised his coaches and teammates by not showing up on Friday. He wasn't there because I'm working on a new NIL deal for him"
