Tennessee & Nico Iamaleava are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season

Some of yall are morons. Let him walk and tank our season? Lmao. I get it. No one likes it, but welcome to college sports in 2025. Adapt or get left behind.
Agree 100% this is simply CFB in 2025. I hate it but it is what it is. Once Brandon is on campus let Nico kick rocks but until then we have to bite the bullet or we have no shot for the SEC and or a playoff spot this season .

I said Heupel opened the door with Gibson and thought it could be his Kelly Washington moment. Sadly, if all this is true, it looks like it is playing out just that way.
I get it but what else is he supposed to do? If we let our best players walk we will become and afterthought and Huep will be coaching for his job in 2026. The SEC is dog eat dog and I don't want to regress back to days of just being happy to make a bowl game.

Didn't he just get a 10 year extension?

If this is true. IF…it’s true. Then this moment was long before Gibson. NI was Heupels handpicked guy coming off a season where we had a lot of helium and were willing to spend big. If this is true and he sat at the family table and didn’t pick up on this then there’s a bigger problem than what happened with Gibson.

he’s going to feel this when he overthrows wide open receivers and misses slants…in neyland stadium.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over what Bud Elliott’s opinion is of the best quarterbacks in the country.
I wouldn’t either, but the list is true on hype and Nico isn’t top 10 based upon his performance.

I hope he has a Heisman type year, but we are paying for potential.

I think this is all about fulfilling agreements from pre-spring. No idea why anyone went public, serves no good purpose.

Yeah even then I don’t think you’d ever dump a third year starting Nico for a freshman lol like Nico is it for at minimum this year (hopefully, means he went crazy) but probably the next two years.

What throws can't the 2 highly rated backups not make that Nico can? How is that tanking the season with this schedule? With Merk or Mc we're still looking at 8-9 wins, IMO

Game winning throw against Bama, several throws throughout the season. Nico didn’t play well a couple games, but was it truly on him? The oline was terrible early in the season. They got a bit better and yes Nico wasn’t great in the Florida game. But he made plays to beat Bama, he went insane during the Kentucky game. He could have put up 500 yards if WRs could catch a ball for him. The Ohio State game was ugly but you can’t tell me there wasn’t a certain moxy he had, literally cracking his own helmet to truck a guy. Nico is a special talent. Merk and McIntyre have potential too, but Nico is on another level imo. Expect a huge jump, if we get just average oline play and one WR that can break through.
