I doubt this will be our 1 PPV game. Possible but the 1st game of the season seems an unlikely candidate

I'm praying that it's not. I always attend the ppv game so I don't have to miss it.

If you go to a wedding over the game, your man card must be turned in! Or kill your wife for making you go!!
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I agree, but sometimes the *****y wife has to get her way. Atleast mine does

I'm in a wedding the day of the UT vs. UGA game. The funny thing is, the groom is a GA Tech Guy and the father of the bride is a UT alum. He and I were both pretty upset about the date the wedding was scheduled. a Tech guy would at least understand how much that game means to a UT fan.

I'm really hoping this game kicks off later in the day. If not, it will be a roaster.

It's not my wife. She's like me, she would rather go to game. It's a friend that I've known all my life and I'm kind of indebted to. It's his fiance that did this, it wasn't his choice. Believe me I'm at a crossroads about it. I just hope it kicks off early and i can speed back to Nashville after wards. Wedding is at 6pm. Come on VolNation I need support.

I knew I made the right decision to ask my wife-to-be to marry me when she sent me a link to the upcoming year's schedule and said "pick a weekend in September."

If you have access to ESPN3 you can set up an account so you can access it from your phone. I have not done this, but I understand that it works as long as you have a non-apple phone that can run flash.

Hope it works out for you... missing game one is a tragedy!

The Montana game will be at night regardless.

If it is selected by CSS or FSN as part of the packages that they air purchased from ESPN, the game will be at 7 (CSS) or 7:30 (FSN).

If it is our PPV game, we will set the game time at 6 or 7.

The complete SEC TV schedule for the first three weeks of the season should be ready in the next couple of weeks, likely the day before SEC Media Days begins.

1st time poster. Have been reading on here for awhile, but wanted to add my 2 cents.

First, I want to start by saying that I'm really excited that we get the opportunity to play one of the most storied programs in the history of the game. It will be a great experience for our kids to play in an SEC environment and something they will remember for the rest of their lives. Funny fact: your stadium holds more people than the population of every city in MT except for Billings.

Montana has had a lot of success over the years and has been one of the premier programs in all of FCS. Talent wise, I would compare us with what you would find in an FBS mid-major conference.

Saying that, the difference between UT and UM is pretty broad. Bottomline, you just recruit a different type of athlete than we are able to recruit. The state of Tennessee has over 6 million people and is in one of the most densely populated and football crazed areas in the country. Montana, on the other hand, has only a million people and is in the least populated area of the country. Further, only 1% of our population is African American. You don't have to buy a $2 calculator to figure out the fact that UT is going to be at a different level.

Although, we have had some very good talent come through here.

Current players in the NFL:

• Marc Mariani (Havre, MT) – Tennessee Tians. 7th round 2010. Backup WR and starting kick/punt returner. Made the pro bowl his rookie year as a returner and expects more reps as a receiver.
• Kroy Biermann (Hardin, MT) – Atlanta Falcons. 5th round 2008. Starting DE. Won the job last year beating out former 1st round pick Jamaal Anderson. Has become one of the best young DEs in the league.
• Shann Schillinger (Baker, MT) – Atlanta Falcons. 6th round 2010. Backup Safety. Has earned his place by being one of their best special teams players and has been a solid backup getting lots of reps.
• Lex Hilliard (Kalispell, MT) – Miami Dolphins. 6th round 2008. Backup RB. Front runner to be the starter next year after Brown and Williams have left.
• Dan Carpenter (Helena, MT) – Miami Dolphins. UDA 2008. Kicker. One of the best kickers in the league. Made the pro bowl in 2009.
• Cory Proctor (Gig Harbor, WA) – Miami Dolphins. UDA 2005. Backup guard. Played for the Cowboys for most his career.
• Jimmy Wilson (San Diego, CA) – Miami Dolphins. 7th round 2011. Safety. Will be competing to make the roster this year if there is a season.
• Tuff Harris (Colstrip, MT) – Pittsburg Steelers. UDA 2007. Safety. Backup safety. Was on injured reserve last year. Played for the Dolphins and Titans previously.
• Colt Anderson (Butte, MT) – Philadelphia Eagles. UDA 2009. Backup safety. Special teams ace. Was a team captain for the eagles last year, representing special teams. Has also got a lot of reps as a backup.
• Levi Horn (Spokane, WA) – Chicago Bears. UDA 2010. Practice squad last year.
• Justin Green (San Diego, CA) – Arizona Cardinals. 5th round 2005. Full back. Was on injured reserve last year. Might have retired. Was a starter for Baltimore for a couple years.

* Chase Reynolds (RB from Drummond, MT) is likely to sign as a free agent this year. Was projected to be drafted, but was passed over.

Others in the league the last couple years: Steven Pfaler (Frenchtown, MT) Titans (2010 UDA. cut). Dan Beaudin (Trout Creek, MT) Dolphins (2010 UDA. Cut). Cody Balough (Seattle, WA) Bears (08-09. Cut). Jimmy Farris (Lewiston, ID) (01-09). Thatcher Szalay (Kalispell, MT) (02-09). Dylan McFarland (kalispell, mt)(04-08).

Prediction: UT 38 - UM 10

I know kick off is TBA. Anyone have thoughts when kick off time will be. I go to all games, but have a wedding that day that I really don't want to go to, but have to.

Any Man who would schedule his wedding on the opening day of football season is no man at all. Skip it and watch the game.

Also, the Labor Day weekend is the most selfish weekend to schedule a wedding. Skip it and watch the game.

You can get married anytime. There is only so many football games a year. Me and my wife would have had major issues if she would have scheduled our wedding during the football season. I would veto it.

Thanks for the info..... and love your beer. If you come to Knoxville for the game bring a few cases of Moose Drool or Trout Slayer, you'll make a lot of friends.

My youngest daughter is a Griz., I have been to a number of games in Missoula. Great atmosphere, but quite frankly the game day experience at Neyland is at another level. I have found the Griz fans to be a lot of fun and knowledgeable, it will be a great weekend.

MooseDrool, enjoyed your post. Found it funny about our stadium holding more than all but one city in Montana. That's a positive in my view having been through Montana several times. There's much to be said for the peace and quiet to found in the state.

Am impressed a school your size has as many in the pro ranks as you do. A testament to the coaches, program, and dedication of the players, I'd say.

I expect your team to show up to play and make it a game, at least for the first two quarters if not more. I don't think the coaches will allow it but if our boys take you lightly it will be at their own peril. 38-10, you say? HMMM. Barring further injuries, and based on what is being said about our OL's progress as well as Tauren's attitude, relationship with the OL guys, and the moxie of both, I think I see the possibility of 50+ points headed up by the running game, contrary to what people are expecting. But then again, Tennessee always was a running team. And we got a stable of what I believe are dangerous 2nd-3rd string RBs if Tauren gets tired or otherwise falters. I would guess afternoon. Opponent is from the northwest, won't be prepared for our heat and humidity in September. At this point in the program we need every advantage.
