Two things. First I wouldn't call him elite, he was fringe top 100 out of high school. I guess I consider top 20 guys elite. Second, nobody at Memphis allowed him to gain weight. He arrived at Memphis overweight. If I remember correctly he was about 315 when he got to campus after high school. It was then reported he dropped down to just shy of 300 around the start of his freshman year. In the early summer going into his sophomore year he was said to be 290ish. While he didn't drop weight as quickly as we would have liked, he never gained. I think the change of scenery, a second chance, and the promise of playing time gave him the motivation he needed to drop the weight quicker. He could still stand to drop another 20, but he's looking good.
Ha, you got my curiosity going so I went back and looked at the Woodson transfer thread. This was the very last post.... :whistling:
They were just talking about it the other day on the tv broadcast, you'll see varying reports and depending on the time of day when you're that big it'll fluctuate quite a bit in 24 hours.
Regardless, even 298 is about 10lbs heavier than what you were saying he's at, he has dropped almost 30lbs in 3 months in Tennessee while Memphis staff couldn't get him down even 20lbs in a year.
It's amazing to me that you can be caught literally saying two different things and you still argue. Anyways, I said he was 290ish when he made the decision to transfer. So you're telling me it's normal for a guy that size to fluctuate quite a bit in 24 hours, but in your next sentence I was wrong because he couldn't have possibly gained about 8 pounds in the week or two he wasn't practicing between Memphis and UT? Guys fluctuate "quite a bit" in 24 hours, but he couldn't have gained about 8 pounds in a week or two while not practicing? Contradiction? Also, he came into Memphis around 315 in the summer of 2013, and left Memphis around 290 in the summer of 2014. Seems to me that the Memphis staff did indeed get him to drop at least 20 pounds in a year. Any other puzzles you want me to solve for you?
So you admit the UT staff was able to drop more weight off him in less time than the Memphis staff, gotcha
Honest question...was the trainer at Memphis that was let go the one that allowed Woodson to get incredibly overweight and out of basketball shape? Seriously, I've rarely seen someone who was suppose to be an elite type player that bad physically....He's working hard and getting better but he's got a LONG way to go to be effective in the SEC...

Sooo, how many times you going to change your argument? I guess if at first you don't succeed, try try again? If you'll read my original comment, you'll see I mentioned that Woodson dropped weight more quickly while at UT. What else you got?
