This may be the perfect place to make my first post on this board. I'm wondering if I'm alone but can it be possible to like them both?

Memphis Basketball and Tennessee Football has been my lifeline since I'm from Memphis but live in Texas around a lot of SEC haterz

Grew up listening to Big Jack Eaton and John Ward calling games and just can't force myself to manufacture hate for one program over the other.

I grew up in Memphis listening to Jack Eaton, and with my nerf goal on top of a table on top of a bed, I was Otis Jackson launching. I was a ballboy, then later went to Dana Kirk basketball camp. Dad had season tickets, until the prices pushed him out of the old Coliseum, which still ranks as one of the best atmospheres. Back in the Metro days with Denny Crum coming to town. It was a blast.
I don't hate their basketball team. Too many in my family support them. I just don't like the city, the schools, and the constant racial/political issues, so I packed up and gtfo in '98. Best decision I ever made.

Darrell Griffith, Milt Wagner, the twins, Wiley Brown, who played with a fake thumb (could be one of those deals that's not true but that's what I recall), Pervis...that place rocked. And talk about cussing. People would yell whatever and nobody cared. the up yours/f u thing where you put your hand inside your elbow and abruptly thrust one fist into the air was done by thousands. The band would play and angry riff after a bad call and do it over and over.
I was there when Kevin Fromm, off the bench and never played, hit one from the hash at the buzzer. I was also there when Rodney Smith was at the line, tie game, no time on the clock, shooting 2, and missed both. During those ft's is the loudest and most angry crowd I recall in 35+ years.

You have a point here, but do you really want to claim any of these guys besides Derrick Rose? Do what you want, but I'd take their combined 6 ppg career averages and hide them away with a great deal of shame. It's almost better to have had no NBA success in recent times (see the Vols) than to trot out these guys to support your argument.

Guessing you didn't read the actually post pertaining the photos above. And i'm sure guys like Chris Lofton would love the chance to average 6ppg in the NBA, stop attempting the minimize their accomplishment of playing in the NBA.

And don't come on here and throw a jab at Lofton. If you had to go thru what he did, you wouldve crumpled like a child.
