So...I'm moving into a new apartment next week and I'm steadily trying to get stuff to decorate my room, specifically.
Do any of ya'll know good places to go (Both in Knoxville as well as in Memphis, possibly) to get old-timey Vols memorabilia (for a relatively decent price) for a college student to decorate his apartment?
I'm going with a theme of early 1900s sports stuff to put on walls, desk, etc. I just think it would decorate nicely.
Anyway, I just don't know where to go to get neat little crap to decorate. So...Any Vol fans know where to go to get cheap neat stuff?

Good luck. I have had the same dilemma, and everything I would want is $100 to $1,000. Especially the cool painted reprints. You gotta shell out $150 just to get something bigger than a 12x12"- and then you will be lucky if it comes with the frame.

My advice is shop around, and identify the things you want. Save up and by them one at a time or ask for them for xmas. In 3 or 4 years you will have the collection you've always wanted. Unless you're loaded, its almost impossible to build a good one over night.

So your apartment is going to look like the interior of an old Ruby Tuesdays? I think you'd better consult a female lest you unwittingly create yourself a monastery.

I say definitely eBay. I got a "Tennessee Legends" poster from the seventies a couple years ago that is awesome. It's got coach majors, coach neyland, bad news cafego, gene mcever and more. I see them on there every so often.

I have a few recruiting letters from high school from the Vols. I'm particularly fond of one signed by then Asst Coach Phil Fulmer and another signed by Asst Coach Ron Zook. Also have a birthday card and I had a really cool Christmas card that I've misplaced.

Not willing to part with any of them, but they'd look cool in your pad. :)

You might try the Tennessee store in Memphis. Im sure you know where it is, next to Corky's on Germantown Road. They may not have anything in stock, but may have some ways to find good old merchandise. Also in Knoxville there is a place downtown on Gay St. I believe it is called The Market Shop or something to that affect. I have never been there, but I have heard that they have vintage merchandise and I'm sure someone on here has been there.
