So you don't think we'll get Dawson? Everyone else seems so optimistic.

oh I think we have a chance to get Dawson. I don't think he comes in and is in the two deep necessarily. Lot will depend on how hard he wants to work.

I've said weeks, something to me feels like he stays at home in Kentucky. see how the rumbles go after he visits here.

Lets not forget about Naz Oliver either. He's a talented kid and should have had time to make a full recovery from the knee by now. Kid had some SPEED before the Knee. I still think he will end up a good player.

Naz most likely will play safety.

The name everyone is forgeting is Robert Nelson, he was a pretty highly rated LB. King,Lathers,Vereen, and Nelson will play well before Propst, Crump, and Sapp. The depth is not as bad as some think. Add in the freshmen (but we wont depend on em unless they are freaks right away) and a second year of the same system and LB will be much improved.

Really? I was thinking he went into last spring expected to start along side Gordon at CB. Either way, I think he's been forgotten about by some but will turn out to be a good player.

And YES I totally forgot about Robert Nelson. Dude has some upside to him. INTERESTING, good post.

Lane is all but locked up...where are you thinking he goes?

concerned about FSU if he visits.. also wondering if we decide he is worth taking risk with off field issues.

best of lot we are recruiting but he isn't exactly a stud RB / game changer but we are not in on one of those anyway...

Coach Thompson will have one hell of a coaching job a head of him this season. If the players will listen and learn and we have no injuries, then we may be fine.

All three of those guys saw the field this year. Nelson didn't.

Do you guys think that Nelson (5-11, 200) is big enough to play LB for Dooley/Wilcox? If not, how much weight can he put on before next fall?

Maybe it's a coincidence, but CDD seems to be recruiting only LB's in the 220-230# range this year:

Christian Harris 6-1, 230
A. J. Johnson 6-3, 232
Lamar Dawson 6-2, 230
Kent Turene 6-3, 225
Jaiari Dunaway 6-3, 218

CDD also said earlier this year that he preferred 215# safeties, so maybe he wants the defense to get bigger at all positions?

TIA. :hi:

they definitely want them bigger at all positions.

the previous staff was shocked at how small our defensive players are.

this staff was shocked at how small our defensive players are.

they certainly will be recruiting "larger" and more talented players for defense. that is a big requirement.

Kinda what I was thinking too ever since CDD's comment about 215# safeties.

Thanx, Larry! :hi:
