I think she’s a great coach and should continue to be our top assistant for her entire career. People always look at a great assistant and say “they need to be a head coach.” But in reality that’s just not really how it works.

Some people are head coaches and some are assistants and that is often mutually exclusive.

She is certainly the facilitator of Kim’s game plan. She has been connected to Kim and her family for a long time. With that said, I’ve never heard her speak very much. So it’s hard to really get a feel or sense of her individual qualities and personality. She has been low key in her role. She appears pretty animated in practices. But again, I really don’t have a grasp of her as a person or her approach with players.

Pull quote #1: Caldwell and her staff are on their way to getting UT back on track with a five-player incoming freshman class and the transfer portal. They'll have seven open spots for the 2026-27 roster, but after the next recruiting cycle, Caldwell said "hopefully our feet will be under us and our foundation will be set."
