I know! I really wish it was more balanced across years, both for the team and the fans (more potentially great home games this year). On the other side, I think if we win at least 3 of these including one of the better teams of the bunch, it may help us with confidence and the seeding matrix later on in the season. I imagine we might be favored for the Stanford game and maybe the Louisville game, though neither will be a gimme.Schedule just got got tougher with UCLA on the road. That goes with UConn road, Stanford road, NC St road, SC road, LSU road, NC St road and Louisville on a neutral court. I don't think any other team is matching that next season. They may be playing them all or others but not that many road games.
What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger.. having a really strong schedule just gets you ready for the NCAA tournament down the road...losing 3 or 4 of these battles isn't going to be end of the world.Schedule just got got tougher with UCLA on the road. Certainly this is the best schedule in the country. Were playing most of the top ten on the road. Texas is the only home game. Didn't even add Oklahoma and Ole MIss both who have been listed at least in the top twenty as some other road games. No way we can lose any at home have to win them all have the favorable schedule to do it. If we can take some of these road games we will be a high seed in the tourney. What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger.. having a really strong schedule just gets you ready for the NCAA tournament down the road...losing 3 or 4 of these battles isn't going to be end of the world.
Yeah, besides it being possibly overly brutal, as someone who travels to nearly every home game I'm having myself a pity party when I think of how much I wish some of these were going to be ones I'll see in person this season. If there is a team that is highly ranked to beat w CKC system it is UCLA. I have believed for a decade that Coach Cori Close is about 20 years behind in basketball. Coaching is bad. She takes great players and makes them ok. Kiki Rice and Lauren Betts both have stalled in the mud.![]()
Lady Vols, Bruins Ink Two-Game Hoops Series - University of Tennessee Athletics
Tennessee and UCLA, each ranked in the top 10 of preliminary preseason polls, announced on Friday a two-game series in women's basketball, beginning with the upcomingutsports.com
Where is the schedule some are referring to please? On the other hand, if you look at this tough, away schedule through the lens of recruiting...
as a Lady Vol you'll get to compete against the best players in the country (and not just at tournament time),
you'll get to play in the best arenas and before the best fans of women's basketball,
and some younger recruits who live outside the southeastern US will have an opportunity to see the Lady Vols play in-person.
I think recruits need to see a game in-person, near the bench, to appreciate just how much CKC entrusts the on-court game to her players. That appeal will be huge, as the best players have likely been playing in systems for years that (for the sake of understandably less talented teammates) don't make the most use of their growing basketball IQ and court awareness. For some, CKC's system will beckon like freedom itself.
She has a long-term boyfriend here, don’t think there’s anything to worry about from that perspective. Lots of photos of them doting on each other on Instagram.I love it for Sara that she's going pro. But her folks are probably worried she'll get over there and fall in love with beautiful Finland and want to stay! But then again, those long winters are probably not gonna on be Puckett's favorite things about Finland list.
I hope we'll be able to track down ways to follow her team -- at least see some highlights now and then. I'm really happy for Sara!
Full schedule has not been released yet, but we do know some parts of it. At UCLA, at Stanford, at UConn, at MTSU, and Louisville and NC State at neutral sites. The SEC schedule is the reverse of last year, everyone we played at home last year we will play on the road this year, and vice versa. Will play LSU home and road.Where is the schedule some are referring to please?
Not true about LSU. That was last season. Mississippi State is home and away this season.Full schedule has not been released yet, but we do know some parts of it. It was supposed to be a two-year cycle for the home-and-home opponents, guess they decided to change it. Didn't realize the SEC had put the whole thing out already, but here it is: SEC Reveals 2025-26 League Hoops Opponents - University of Tennessee AthleticsNot true about LSU. That was last season. Well, I can only hope that she broadens her horizons a bit further beyond her first serious boyfriend before deciding, for sure, that he is her one and only soulmate. She has a long-term boyfriend here, don’t think there’s anything to worry about from that perspective. Anybody ever scheduled the entire top ten in one season were really close. The pre-season top ten are UConn, SC, UCLA, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma is in there and NC St is in some of the polls as is Ole Miss. Of that seven we have one game on a neutral site and six on the road. Hard to understand why we would play MTSU on the road would think more in Nashville a neutral site. Louisville is not top ten but is rated 15 early. Texas at home and Vandy although Vandy probably taking a huge drop after losing a top player.I complained about the non conf sched last year and wanted an upgrade but whoa Nelly this is a gauntlet, esp combined w the SEC torture chamber. I'm just disappointed none of the good games are at home.
One thing about CKC, she is absolutely fearless. Guts for miles.
I reckon we'll be playing all those teams at TBA next season. I wonder if the staff's calculation for this season is to get them hopefully Final Four experience, and that the following season would most realistically have all the pieces, physical development, and next-level competitive experiences in place to win the National Championship.I complained about the non conf sched last year and wanted an upgrade but whoa Nelly this is a gauntlet, esp combined w the SEC torture chamber. If he is truly "the one," they'll eventually find their way to each other even if they've each decided to date other people at some point.
Young people soooo often mistake intense first-time love with all-time love -- understandable given the lack of experience. Sometimes it works out well, and sometimes it doesn't.
Main point: I'm ONLY concerned about Sara and her personal freedom and her ability to make life choices based upon what makes HER happy and successful and to feel loved and supported wherever she is.
Great perspective. The long view. This post could have been written by Mickie…I reckon we'll be playing all those teams at TBA next season. In terms of attitude, focus, and preparation, the NC is always the goal, and sometimes fate can be kind. But strategically, in every sport, there are some things you just need to experience in order to know how to prepare for the next time.
As the old saying goes, you may have sunk a million 3-foot putts in your life. But until you stand over a 3-foot putt with the world watching, with your family's future financial security and your own lifetime dreams (and in team sports, your teammates' dreams) hanging in the balance...
Of course sometimes youth, with its lack of time perspective and accompanying anxiety, allows some to remain totally in-the-moment and produce a championship performance like those young Olympic gymnasts.
Sports seasons make the best movies. Can't wait to pop that first kettle of popcorn!![]()

The contract signed in 2022 with MTSU was for two games in Knoxville, one in M'Boro and one at a neutral site of MTSU's choosing. They picked Huntsville, which is their largest out of state alumni base. It's hard to break even on a neutral site in Nashville because you'd have to sell out Bridgestone to do that and there's no other decent place to play that isn't on another school's campus. I imagine UT fans will take over the Glass House.Anybody ever scheduled the entire top ten in one season were really close.
