Tennessee Lady Vol News

We have been going to the tourney for so long, we get in on the early purchase plan. We get to buy our tickets a week or two before they are open to the general public. We buy the ticket books so we know where we are sitting for the best games. They give us the option to purchase the same seats every year which I do. Everyone we have met and befriended in the past know where to find us and say hello. Hope you have a great time at the tourney.
Super helpful. Thank you! We are very excited. This will be my first SEC tourney.

Didn't know where to post this but wanted to solicit opinions from folks who have attended the SEC tourney before. Should we buy session passes or buy the "all access" GA book that is apparently seats behind the hoops? What have yall done in the past for tickets at the SEC tourney that you liked?

PS- I may be describing the two options entirely wrong because they were told to me by my partner as I was trying to work, so I am not sure how much I fully understood lol.
It has been a minute but we always bought the all sessions tickets book which had reserved seats. We went to every session and every game no matter who was playing. Had a ball. If that year UT’s seats were crummy we would buy a book of tickets from a school that didn’t travel well but had a good block of seats.
Who knows if that is even possible now.
If you don’t mind maybe getting tossed folks always moved into the sections of teams who lost and fans left.
Have fun!!!

Thank you! Never mind getting tossed. We have been late to the last couple of home games, and there is always someone in our seats. We just ask them to slide over because I can't fault anyone for trying to snag better seats 😂

Talia Goodman has Gabe on her list of 20 assistant coaches to eye for a head coaching jump. Others here have predicted this will happen at some point, just hope it's not too soon!

I highly doubt he goes anywhere this season. This group of coaches has a chance to do something special. Two more years here and he can have any job he wants. Right now I don’t actually think he has much of a resume for a top HC position.

He can probably make more as an asst at Tenn than a head coach at a smaller school, which is probably what he would be in the running for.
agree, agree, agree

TN is his dream job and I don't think he will walk away from it just for a different title...His job isn't done here,,,its just beginning

Think were going to see some SEC jobs open up doubt he would be a top choice for any of them. I can see A&M, Arkansas, maybe Missouri making a change. Hard to know how much any of them care about women's basketball. Florida seems to care very little so I can see that coach being back and Auburn and Georgia probably tough out another year with their present coaches.

Abraham -Henderson is in her third year as is Joni Taylor. Too soon for being let go. They'll get at least a couple more years to prove themselves

Neighbors? Maybe a goner

Johnnie Harris is in her 4th year. Probably more years considering she's at Auburn.

Pingeton? Another maybe. Her team has improved greatly this year. If she stays and they continue getting better, they should be a contender next season.

I think Coach Abe gets one more, I think Taylor gets fired. Taylor is being paid a TON of money and has produced no results and it’s only getting worse. I think A&M fires her and hires a younger coach they can pay less and hope for more.

The thing with A&M is they've pulled 1 top 100 player in since 2024 with none in 2025 and I've not seen them listed on anyone's Top list in 2026 or later.

Unless she hauls in some kind of monster class from the portal they are again at the bottom of the SEC. They have no high school class. I think it is a situation where you see where you are and make a change. I hope they keep her and I would like to see all the coaches stay just some teams we should be able to win against easily next season.

Right? Selfishly hope no moves are made.

I suspect Molly Miller will be at Arkansas though. She’ll have them competitive within a couple seasons at least.

Not that I’ve seen a whole lot of interviews and film of Joni Taylor, but from what I have seen, my impression is she has a low-key personality in a job that is more often than not held by people who have higher energy vibes. I could be wrong, but if she is coming across as quiet and, well, kinda dull to teens, she isn’t going to attract a lot of kids to herself.

Like I said, I could be way off base about her and am just basing my impression from how deadpan she comes across most of the time.

Coach Abe has a top 20 recruiting class coming in. That should save her and the fact her team this year is very young helps.

Nashville is a lot more expensive trip. Hotel and parking prices are through the roof. Greenville and Little Rock have been much cheaper. I much prefer Greenville. Nice town with good restaurants. Nashville is just too crowded for my taste. Best thing about going to Nashville is getting to go to Loveless Cafe.
Well, there is Knoxville, which is more central than Greenville.

She actually recruited great for a while but I think she’s kinda fake and makes promises she can’t keep. Janiah Barker was a big time recruit and she mismanaged her terribly along with some other talents at UGA. Her recruiting fell off hard when Janiah didn’t work out.

Yes. They used to have an okay following; it seemed about 4000 season ticket holders with bigger crowds for the bigger games. Now hardly anyone goes despite their investment in Coach Taylor. Counting all the ludicrous amount of money they throw at their college football players and coaches, an athletic director may need to look for work as well. Joni had never proven that she would take them to the Summitt.
