A handful of teams ranked between 18-25 lost their fourth game of the season. How many teams do you think would have to lose their bowl game for Tennessee to get 25th or better?

We could be very close to cracking it with a solid win against a quality opponent.

That's why I hope we go to the Cotton Bowl...

In 2006 7-5 UCLA was ranked #25 by the BCS heading into their bowl games

In 2007 9-4 Tennessee was ranked #16 by the BCS heading heading into their bowl game

Just seems possible to me that Tennessee could end up in the top 25 after the smoke clears. I am not saying it's likely but if enough teams lose I think it's possible. Their losses were by 2, 4, 4, 10, 25. If they win their bowl they might be the best 8-5 team in the country. Coming off a 5-7 season, 12 players leaving the team and a bunch of starters being injured, 8-5 with a bowl win would be pretty impressive. These kids have gone through three offenses and two defenses in the past three years.

No need in worrying over a ranking this year or in preseason next year. Go out and take care of business and the rankings will come.

Considering 2 of our losses were on the road against #1 & #2 I'd say we have a good chance to be ranked if we get a good bowl win
