He’s had several high profile logistics roles at the professional and collegiate level. Watson was likely moved to a more hands on role (though I don’t know what it is).

All this guy does is coordinate travel, practices (from a logistics standpoint), and things like that.

Andrew Warsaw, the former director of game operations for the NFL, begins his first season as Mississippi State’s director of football operations in 2018.

Warsaw joined the Bulldogs in December 2017 and was instrumental in operations for the TaxSlayer Bowl. The Olney, Md., native will work closely with head coach Joe Moorhead in all facets of the program, including travel, practices and day-to-day operations at the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex.

Warsaw comes to Starkville after serving as the NFL’s director of game operations since December 2016. He coordinated team logistics and travel for international games as well as the Super Bowl. Warsaw oversaw all gameday policies during the season and was based out of the league’s New York headquarters.

Warsaw and Moorhead reunite after the two worked together at Fordham in 2012. Warsaw was the Rams’ director of football operations that season.

Prior to joining the NFL, Warsaw spent two seasons as the director of football operations at Purdue (2015-16) and three seasons as the operations coordinator at Arizona (2013-15). His duties included day-to-day operations, travel coordination, player personnel and recruiting logistics.

Warsaw also worked at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Penn and Villanova. Penn was the 2010 Ivy League champions while he was there and Villanova won the 2011 FCS national championship.

A 2009 graduate of West Virginia University, he spent four seasons as a student manager with the Mountaineers, helping to plan and prep for the 2006 Fiesta Bowl and the 2008 Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Warsaw and his wife, Ashley, have two sons, Aiden (3) and Landon (1).

Way overboard with the copy and paste act but thank you all the same. Saw this at TOS a few hours after I posted my question.

Sounds like a fairly important guy, behind the scenes.
