Tennessee has had a lot of great RBs

Jamal Lewis was simply the best all around RB Tennessee has had. A rare combination of speed and huge body strength. Fulmer waited too long to unleash him and he dominated when he did. Injuries were the only thing that kept him from being UT’s leading rusher in just 3 seasons. Then he almost broke the NFL’s season rushing record. A man amongst boys

If my memory serves me right we once had Henry,Stevens and Lewis in one class. You go Coach Fulmer. But my all time favs were the full backs..

In 1999 Phil had the most rediculous stable of running backs in our history (I assume). Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, and Onterrio Smith. So deep I think Travis Stephens redshirted as a SO or Jr! Wow.

But none could take it to the house from anywhere on the field better than Jay Graham. Ask Bama (twice) and OSU.

Charlie Garner was with him but not better.
We have indeed. Don’t currently have one now. Hope the Evans kid comes here.

Jalen Hurd had the potential to be very special. An Eddie George type. Too bad we squandered that
No he didn’t. Big, strong kid without elite quickness or elite speed. Ran hard and that’s about it. The guy that Jones squandered was Alvin Kamara. Hurd got every opportunity in the world to show what he could do, Kamara got virtually none by comparison.

Lewis, Henry, Cobb, Garner, Webb, Kamara......those guys we’re all special running back talents. Hurd was not.

Eric Gray lookin like the next one :oops:

Agree, I hope that he doesn't have a sophomore slump. He should have a heck of a line to run behind this season. I would say that this line would be as good talent wise at the Tiny Richardson class O-line. But time will tell. I'm just excited that we are starting to look like a power run football team again. CJP has gotten the big uglies up front on both sides of the ball that we need to be competitive again.
