Well they didn't fix the problem I have with going to neyland. Wish they would let you exit or get a smoking area. I walked out the first time I took my son to a game at neyland to get a smoke at half time and they would not let me back in. You antismokers don't care, but remember alot of yhe tax dollars smokers pay go to the schools and my ticket cost as much as a non smoker. Just think they should at least accommodate somehow even if they hide us in the cellar.

Unfortunately, that's not possible to fix, and there are two reasons why.
First, under the interpretation and inspection given to UT for "Tennessee Non-Smoker's Protection Act" law, the entire stadium, inside the gates, is considered to be indoors because it is a state-owned building. They are not permitted, based on the state inspection of the building, to designate smoking areas anywhere inside the stadium.
Places like LP field in Nashville and various minor league baseball stadiums are allowed to designate areas on ramps and other areas because they are not state-owned, so the law is slightly less restrictive on them. But all UT athletic facilities have to be non-smoking on their entire "footprint," anywhere within their gates.
Second, the SEC prohibits issuing pass-out checks or allowing any re-entry for any reason other than for an ordered evacuation due to weather or some other emergency. UT cannot violate this policy by allowing smokers to re-enter.
Because of those two factors, there is not a way to allow smokers to be accommodated during a game.
Most stands at Neyland accepted credit cards last season. Every stand at basketball, baseball, softball and soccer was able to take them. There are wiring and internet access issues that have prevented every stand from taking cards, but about 2/3 of the stands at Neyland can currently take cards. As areas are renovated, they will expand it to every stand.
The new concessions partner for UT, Aramark, will be introducing a lot of new options over the next couple of years. Hopefully by basketball season there will be even more "branded" options available. Because they only won the contract in April, they weren't able to secure all of those options for football season, so offerings will be similar, but with MUCH higher quality. They had a concessions "tasting" event with staff and donors a few weeks ago with a really positive response. They've also lowered prices on a few items. The Aramark people were even surprised at what Sodexo was charging for some things.
If you want to smoke, self-immolate. Seriously, death stick suckers don't realize (or care) that the tobacco stink permeates their hair and clothes. Sitting next to them forces you to put up with the stink all game. The only thing that concerns me is by not letting you back in, what happened to your kid? If they were so callous as to not escort you in to get the kid and out again, I'd hate them more than your smoking. Otherwise, I'm in their corner for sparing me and others from smelling residual smoke. On the other hand, aren't you concerned with killing your kid via secondhand smoke?
Seriously?
I'll make a deal with you. You dont tie me in with those a$#clowns and I wont tie you in with some of the bullS@#$ that I deal with every day here in "the Middle".
every fanbase has their 10%. Please do not be one of them. Thanks in advance.
:good!::good!:
I would think that WINNING would improve the gameday experience more than anything else.
Maybe they can install a "deodorizing station" at each entrance. File through just like the metal detectors at the airport.
(this would be good in ANY stadium)
what will Mrs Dickel think?
edit: yes I know.
Moving on to Santana and Little River Band.
:good!:
Still don't have the improvement I've been wanting for the last several years. A transporter room so those of us thousands of miles away could zap right there. Jeez, couldn't they get one used from Star Trek? I'd be willing to pay an extra 5-10 bucks for a ticket. Well, at least 5. Right now would be a good time, too....after we got transported to the game....we could look out at the field, see McCullers and I'm sure someone would say, "Captain, there be whales here."
....That's why you get a burning sensation in your mouth and throat, the alcohol is literally killing an external layer of cells as you drink it. That's why whiskey is a good disinfectant for wounds of all kinds. That's why regular heavy use damages organs, primarily the liver.......
