Tennessee football

So, I'm sitting at dinner talking to my husband about Saturday's game and what time we're gonna leave the house to drive up. Obviously we don't expect a big crowd since we aren't doing well. But it's also homecoming, so the alumni will have to be factored in because a lot of them will be there for other events besides football.

Then I mention next Saturday's game, a game I've been looking forward to longer than any of them. I've had this date circled and I really wanted to see the Vols against Mizzou. Now, thanks to a little shoulder surgery thing that has to be done Monday I'm not sure about our plans. :cray:

And it got me to thinking about how varied Tennessee football is from one fan to the next. It's pretty awesome that it is as big as it is to so many of us, for so many different reasons. So whether you are totally ticked off at the state of our program, or if you're someone who is a fan just because you're a Vol, I'm proud to be one of you.

GO VOLS!!!
Hope your surgery goes well- I've been in your spot, and its never fun. Always proud to root for the Big Orange!

Thanks y'all. I appreciate it.

I can't miss the Mizzou game. I was a little more excited about it at the beginning of the season (I really thought we'd have a better record than we do right now and thought the game would have bigger implications). But I'm still excited to see the Tigers in Neyland Stadium and welcome those fans to the greatest place for football in the SEC!!!!

GO VOLS!!!!!

VG, Good luck with the and a speedy recovery.

I've been a Vol my whole life. I went to my first game around 5 or 6 years old. The first one I truly remember was USC in 1980. I've watched the Vols play in: Gainesville, Orlando, Atlanta, Athens, Birmingham, Nashville, Lexington, Memphis, Tampa, Los Angeles, Tempe, & Columbia.

I root for them in every contest (in every sport). As I get older, and as the team loses more frequently, I don't get too worked up over a loss. Although last week my wife was laughing at me as I was yelling at the TV as USCe converted a 3rd and 26 for a TD. But after the game I went on with my day. Back in college, that loss would have ruined my day.

Thanks Vollygirl.

What a breath of fresh Volunteer air. I was starting to choke on the foul mood in here. I'll be at the Mizzou game as well cheering on my VOLS.

Best Wishes and GBO!

Thank you. Everything went according to plan and I'm on the mend. If nothing changes between now and Saturday I plan on being in Neyland to see the Vols beat the Tigers!

Yes I was there at homecoming also, it was rediculously small crowd. I was just discussing at supper tonight myself about going saturday.I think I will simply because I have family in St. Louis that are big Mizzu fans. As much as I hate CDD, its not the kids fault. So we will go and cheer. Noon game means early drive up and a drive back after the game. GBO!
