Tennessee football players involved in brawl

why are so many people looking to blame someone else? If there are 10 players there are one of the beat the hell out of this guy 9 decent human beings should have ended it when myles put him on the deck, fball players are to blame.

They just said on the zone in Nashville that "there is a strong possibility that more arrests are coming."

They were quoting someone, but I didn't catch who

it may have been the officer they had on an hour or so ago

Folks, there is much more going on there than how it affects our wins & losses this year. Back up and get some perspective.

Anyone who was part of a group attacking one man (no matter who started it) should be off the team.
And anyone who took part in kicking and beating a man who was down on the street (never mind that he was a police officer) should be off the team.
I am tired of rooting for thugs.

When crap hits the fan anything goes. I've seen cops beat the hell out of one man when he's down!:boxing2:

From one of the eye witness articles I read they said that Myles struck the off duty officer - he went down fast and hit his head on the curb (which lead to him being knocked out) and Myles kicked him one or two times and that was the end of it with the off-duty officer.

Doubtful if it were Myles he would be out on bond right now considering those statements.

I think that is what happened. Didn't they say he hit the guy and he went down and then he kicked hi a time or two and it was over?

I don't know if you have ever been in a fight but if you hit someone and they go down while you are still standing the very next thing to do is kick them. You don't evaluate his consciousness and you don't check his pulse, and you don't get down there with him, you kick the **** out of him.

Sounds like it was a perfectly executed street fight to me. I think this guy will be a player and a huge loss to the team. Y'all need to keep him.

a cop shot a guy the other day while he was on the ground on his stomach and the other cop was in full control of him. His excuse in court was that he thought he was grabbing his tazer and grabbed his 40 cal., are you kidding me!!! That was an outright lie.

Scumbag got two years.

If we can get these players to pull the same beat down on fl and bama this year I say keep em.

Most cops aren't properly trained for live combat and it could honestly have happened. There was a gun fight between cops and some other people up in Oh a few years ago. Knocked off over 100 rounds within point blank range and no one was hit. When you're at the shooting range, you're adrenaline isn't pumping.

I want to personally thank Lebron James for his timing! Can you imagine if this was a slow news day!

:good!:

If he was off duty and started something he should be charged.

If he was off duty and pulled a weapon without identifying himself he could be culpable.

On the other hand whoever beat him up is just as guilty or even more so since he received the short end of the stick.

If he was drunk or drinking and with a weapon, he should be charged like any civilian would. If that is the case, he should also be fired on the spot. I certainly don't want my tax dollars paying his salary. A lot of Ifs, though

From AJC:
Sandy Morton, who owns Bar Knoxville with her husband, told the Chattanooga Times Free Press they've never had any problems from Vols players. She said many of the players, who are treated as VIPs and don't pay a cover charge, are on a first-name basis with her husband.

Key word is 'Many' don't pay a cover. Sounds as if not all players get in free. So maybe no NCAA penalty?

Here's the facts as we know them right now.

Hughes was minding his own business when one of the "victims" punched him for unknown reasons. (Maybe he's a rival fan who wanted to take out some UT players?)

Surrounding players jumped into the fray. It is unclear that any "beating" was going on inside.

The owner pushed the fight outside where an off duty police officer tried to break it up and got punched. He went down and struck his head. One of the players kicked him a couple of times and ran off.

It is murky at this point as to who actually hit the "victim" who started the fight or how many times.

What does seem clear is that only ONE GUY was responsible for the policeman's injuries. It sounds like it might have been Myles but could have been Rogers.

Can we just cancel this season and kick the whole team? LOL, you know, start fresh and all that :\

I owned a bar for 10 years that I sold in October. I never allowed anyone under 21 in because they cannot drink legally and all u are doing is asking for trouble. I have had as many as 350 people in it on a given night and never had to employ bouncers. You can stop 98% of trouble before it starts if you try. I would not assume the patron, off-duty cop, or players innocent. I would assume that Sandy Morton and husband are your main problems and should not be allowed to stay open. CDD needs to let every bar owner have his personal #, to call him when one of his underage players are in their business so he can personally go drag their tails out. Another sad day for TN. fans!!!:vava:

THE BAR OWNERS will say and try to protect certain people to keep club out of trouble!!:cray:

I just hope this doesn't screw up some of these guys' lives. Football is one thing, but to have things like this on your record is almost damning.

Well, now every game this year were gonna hear about this happening. Commentators never forget to remind us of off season trouble.
