My point exactly. The kid might have been trying to do the right thing, but I hope UT checks this out thoroughly and the truth comes out. I think its strange he was an off duty cop just out trying to do his duty at 2am. in the morning.
I refuse to believe any of these allegations. Pope Dooley of Character has baptized this program in morality and righteousness. That's what the Erics of the world have been telling anyone who would listen. I'm sure Andre Lott will have a couple of character building sessions with these lads and make it all better. See how much better things are with Dooley and Da'Rick on campus than they would have been with Kiffin and Ambles? How lucky we are.
Wrong. People who enjoy watching the naive and the hypocritical get what they deserve find this extremely satisfying.
Maybe it was the only "happenin" bar going on that night? I don't know Knox's night life...The cop didn't look too old from the pic posted in this thread earlier...There are plenty of bars in and around Knoxville...he had to choose the "college kid" bar to go and drink? It just doesn't really add up to me.
I like that tweettaurenpoole twitter

like lws said it is a small %, hopefully he can lead vocally and by example

So since he's a cop, he cannot enjoy drinks in a club after midnight?? Wtf?? Also, he can't commit a public service which is his job when he's off duty?? It's not like the dude is a judge or anything and can't be seen drinking or out late in public.
He was probably having a good time and a drink because he knew the owners of the bar. I know I would if I was in his line of work because it's way tougher than everyone thinks it is....
I'm not reveling in it. That's not my point. These incidents happen everywhere. I'm simply pointing out that just because a coach comes in and says he emphasizes character doesn't suddenly turn UT into a monastery. My beef is with fans who act as if Kiffin, whose team did pretty well in the classroom and off the field, was running a loose ship because he didn't go on TV and say "character" every third word and hire Tori Noel to treat player like they were five years old. Kiffin had three guys try to recover money from a third rate pot dealer and a guy steal a shirt. Dooley has had a guy get drunk and hood surf and a brawl. I don't think either scenario indicates the coach is lax in discipline. I think it exhibits the fact they are dealing with college kids. The decision making of 18-22 year olds is never going to be confused with the wisdom of Solomon. You are like a 5 year old saying nananabooboo. Are you really letting your dislike of Dooley get in the way of wanting good things to happen at UT? You are actually reveling in this disappointing news aren't you. I normally like to read your posts, but that one just hit me the wrong way, so I will apologize for saying stfu.
Who says anything about "looking for trouble"? Cops are individuals too, as long as they are responsible for their actions when they are out in public, there is nothing wrong with having beers with friends at the local bar.
