Tennessee football finding recruiting momentum, Jeremy Pruitt delivering on promise

Most coaches typically act as if they’ve just won a national championship on Signing Day, smiling their way through the presentation of new players.
Tennessee’s 2018 class ranked No. 20 in the nation — a strong start to be sure for a coach who had been hired exactly two months before.
Pruitt, however, appeared disappointed by the overall haul.
It probably didn’t help when Quay Walker, a longtime Alabama commit who Pruitt had worked to build a relationship with, put on and then threw off a Tennessee hat before making his commitment to Georgia.
“I know some of you sat there on your hands watching TV and you’re thinking, ‘What if,’ ” Pruitt said at the Feb. 7 Signing Day press conference. “Well, don’t think that no more, because next year on Signing Day, we will be up there at the very top.”

The momentum is really starting to build under Pruitt. He is recruiting quality of quantity and this class is already full of size and greasy speed.

We may have us a legit SEC rostor real soon Nation.

It makes you wonder why Quay Walker acted like such a punk when he committed. No reason to put the TN hat on then throw it off. Was he trying to tick CJP off?

Worked better the first time he did it...in his head. For a dramatic actor with flair he’s a hell of an athlete.

Their 17year olds in front of friends. At least make an attempt to keep that in perspective.

And here lies the problem. He’s 17 so he gets a pass. He should know better but as long as there are people like you that always defend bad behavior, it will only get worse. It was low class at any age except maybe for a toddler.

Ill wait and see where we are after signing day.

Earlier this year everyone was celebrating recruiting until signing day was over.

Walker said not to long ago in an interview that Pruitt said something that pizzed him off, apparently when Walker told him he was going with UGA. Pruitt probably told Walker that Smart looked like Opie.

Seriously though, Walker admitted it was an immature move on his part. And who knows what Pruitt said. Could have told Walker he might end up pumping gas.

Would like to see, on average, how many commits change their mind before Signing Day, and end up with their signature on another school's LOI. It's gotta be around 3-4 for a class size of 20-25.

From the article, seems Kirby didn't have a big problem with the hat toss. Never disrespect an opponent, bites you every time. As for as the "17 year old excuse", Quay is a grown man. He is responsible for his behavior and any consequences.
