Tennessee Football All-Star Team (Last 15 Seasons) (2002-2016):

I posted this in the recruiting forum also so I figured I would post it here as well.

I thought it would be interesting to post an All-Star Team for Tennessee Football that covered the last 15 years (2002-2016). This period hasn't been a great stretch of football for UT especially after 2004 season, but it is interesting to look at the talent Tennessee has assembled over just the last 15 seasons.

I'm sure I accidentally left off several players that should have made this list & there are probably some players that can be switched around between 1st-Team and 2nd-Team, 2nd-Team to 1st-Team, etc.

What does everybody think? Who did I forget? What would you do differently? Thoughts?

Didn't read past your first position picks. Impossible to take any "all star" team seriously from someone who would pick Tyler Bray over Hobbs and Ainge.

Thought defense was about perfect.

Dobbs has to be second team over Bray because of wins. CP only had one year but, probably higher than 3rd team WR for me.

Ainge as QB2a and Dobbs QB2b. They're both so different. But with the players on the list we'd probably be running a more prostyle offense so I'd go with Ainge if I had to pick.

Seeing that DL list , I can see why our D has been pathetic for so many years. And a more accurate list would be who you would pick to put together a team vs career accomplishments.

The punter we have now has to be top three, and who the heck is Lucas Taylor??

If you are over the age of 20 and do not know who Lucas Taylor is, what are you doing on a UT forum? Comments like this really drive home how clueless some posters are.

I looked him up; he had a thousand yds. recieving in 07, but I don't remember him.

Great routes, good hands, but average size and no real flash after the catch. Ainge loved him. In 07', his breakout season, he caught plenty of balls. But, Cutcliffe kept Ainge from throwing hardly anything downfield, probably due to that finger injury. Not a lotta big plays, except for that TD bomb he threw to the RB v UF in 06', iirc.

In my opinion CP and Rico McCoy should be 2nd team, not 3rd. And no mention of a Gerald Jones... he was pretty productive in his time on the hill. Hurd should not be on any list, except one of our 5 star recruits/players that turned out to be a bust.

Dobbs and Ainge before Bray.

On the pro style team he has built id probably have Ainge #1, then Clausen then Bray.I dont think Ainge gets enough love, his junior and senior years were PHENOMENAL. Also if we're doing rbs id have it as
Foster/Kamara (Easily the most talented duo)
Hardesty/Neal
Houston/Hurd

I also feel like lamarcus coker needs to be in there on talent alone. One of the biggest home run threats ive ever seen in orange in his brief time here.

Ainge Junior and Senior years
6500 yards, 50 Tds, 19 Picks, 65%

Bray Soph and Junior
5600 yards, 51 Tds, 18 picks, 59%

And ainge NEVER took a sack, dude had the quickest release we've seen on the hill in the last 15 years by far. He wasnt as clutch as clausen but had the best overall skillset/leadership/understanding of the game combo since manning

No matter how we feel about the guy, if Jalen Hurd had ran in an I, he'd have had the UT career rushing record halfway through his JR season. I'd put him on the 1st team.
