This is exactly why I pull for UT except for when they play us. We know about most of these kids around 10th grade and some of them move on to UT, nothing wrong with that IMO. I don't stop following them just because they end up at UT.

Good luck with this next recruiting year.

Dooley sited the challenge of having to recruit more widely than others as part of what makes the experience of joining together as a team unique and memorable on the Hill. I think there is something to this. I think the geographical distribution of this class is fascinating. There is a plan.

I could care less what some of the laptop analysts on here, who piss and moan everything Dooley, think of this class..

I'd be more interested in the opinions of say.. Saban, Meyer and some of the other elite coaches around college football.. Pretty sure they would say Dooley did VERY well...

edit: Hey, wasn't I supposed to get a prize or something for 1500 posts? Freak?

Georgia is gonna be our second home.

It used to be that way. Same could be said of South Carolina. Problem is that while we still get many great players from those states, Richt and the OBC have made recruiting the top talent ALOT more difficult.

I have always believed that the UT job has to be one of the hardest jobs in the country. You compete in the toughest conference in the nation and your state does not produce enough SEC-calibre talent. Its very hard to pull blue chip prospects from your neighboring states.

Dooley has done a great job closing this year, especially in Florida.

Uhhh, huhhh....... I mean we never get any talent out of the state like Berry, Lewis, etc, etc, etc. . . . . Georgia high school system = Tennessee's minor leagues.

Berry was not going to go anywhere else, period. Lewis was a kid that was overlooked due to a fellow by the name of Jasper Sanks. Nobody knows how all of the recruits will turn out. 2 and 3 star players turn out to be first rounders and some 5 star guys turn out to be very average. Recruiting is always going to be tough, especially when you have to rely on out of state talent, that's all I'm saying.

Of course UT will get their fair share. I'm just saying that I believe pulling a blue chip recruit out of state is always a very hard thing to do.

In all actuality, Saulsbery and Williams both should be in the Top-100. They are going to be a steal.

When I read UGAinsider's post, I think he is more optimistic and level-headed than over half of the posters on here. I thoroughly enjoy his insight because its non bias and spot on. Keep up the good work.

The profoundness of this statement did not shine through like it should the first time I read this post. This is exactly what Fulmer found out. The hard way. He had a good run (better than most), but how long can you take everyone else's best players and keep getting away it? Not for 15 straight years apparently. To do it for 5 years was dang good. Tee Martin, Peerless, Peyton, Walker, Grant, Lewis, and many others who Fulmer started 47-5 with, were out of staters. Al Wilson and Big Joe were terrific, but did not come around every year. I am also aware that Willis, Hightower, and Cobb were monumental instate blunders. But the overall best talent in this region does not reside in Tn. Our best players will continue to be stolen from other states. Coach Dooley has his work cut out for him if he is going to please our fans... Well put Georgia Boy, but hell, we got one as a coach now!
