Tennessee/Florida game

Gainesville is prone to get several inches of rain dang near every day, usually between 4pm and 6pm. They don't call it "Rainsville" for nothing. Rain/water won't be the issue I don't think. Wind/storm damage and/power outages, combined with hotel room and gas shortages will be the bigger problem in my opinion

If gas shortages are that big, how are all the millions of evacuees getting back. That's only going to compound problems, I'd think.

That sounds strange --

Not really strange, throudands have lost power off/on in the Jax/Gainesville area over last 24 hours due to a nor'easter, not hurricane related. Nothing major, just temporary stuff.

Play the game in Duke's stadium. Spurrier can broker the deal. That way, it is a 20 minute drive for me. If no one else shows up, no worries, I'll tweet about the action.

The GA Dome is in the process of being gutted for the Nov. 20 implosion. I'm not sure it would be able to host a game at this point. My suggestion would be to put ATL UTD at GA tech (where they started the season) and put the VOLS at Benz. That would be contingent on GA tech v UCF not getting moved to Atlanta, which is a possibility as well. GA tech has less flexibility in their schedule with the U game getting postponed...

The likelihood is that the game is played in Gainesville.

We'll see the damage that this thing ends up doing, but thankfully I don't think it's going to be as apocalyptic as it was first feared.

And I am someone who got the hell out of town and is sitting in a hotel right now....so I am extremely thankful.

That, by the way, is not to say that a certain section of the state that gets direct impact will not feel the full wrath of this thing and be tragically impacted.

Just glad you are safe 99.

The Carolina's were booked.

Keep in mind, I was looking for a "pet friendly" room as well. So, that was a huge obstacle

But, a lot of those Carolina bookings were later cancelled because they have had mandatory evacuations as well.

The problem as I discovered is that Hotels.com and other websites don't have up to the minute information.

So, you really had to look up the hotel directly from the hotel website and call the hotel locally to find out if there was availability or not.

hotels.com would say that a room was available that wasn't.

So, you'd think you had something and you didn't.

Getting out of town is something new for me with regard to storms.

I looked up some things wednesday afternoon while at work and told my wife we'd discuss it when I got home from work.

When I got home from work, almost everything I had seen was gone.

May have to go Walmart and get some camping equipment.
