I am a manager at a high end clothing store and routinely have need to call other stores around the country. The other "southern" folk are usually really nice, the TX folks act like they are too busy to talk to you, the east coasters usually comment on how cool my Southern accent is and the NYC people...well, they have as hard a time understanding me as I do them.

Last night I had to call 2 stores in a row. At the first store, I talked to a really sweet girl who was extremely helpful. As we chatted, she told me she was in middle TN on Christmas Day because her parents were originally from TN. She then shared "We are huge UT fans. We love going to football games in Knoxville!" Of course, this made me instantly happy!!! We talked some more about how much we loved football and hung up as new best friends.

Her state of residence? Alabama.

I then called a store in Virginia. When I told the guy who answered I was calling from Knoxville, he told me he was born here and he loved Tennessee!!! He said he was a HUGE Vol fan and loved coming to football games. He then stated..."Tennessee fans are the best in the country. Period. I really believe that." :dance2: He talked about how much he enjoyed game day in Ktown and that even though he attended Marshall, he was All UT. I was blown away.

Both of these conversations took place within 15 minutes of each other and were the first that ANYONE had ever commented on being a Vol fan!!! It not only reinforced how powerful a connection our love of team can create between perfect strangers, but also how wide spread Vol Nation truly is.

Proud to be a Vol!!!

I work for an airline and travel around the world,I have seen Tennessee apparel on every continent. My favorite time was when i was in Rome Italy, and this guy saw my Tennessee hat and ran up to me and asked me the TN/SC score. I happily told him Tn won and he was ecstatic. I was even on a flight from Tokyo to Guam, and was not the only one wearing a Tennessee hat. Rocky Top around the world.............:bow2:

There are many Vol fans throughout the world. I've met many in every state that I've lived in or been. I remember shopping in California after we returned from the National Championship win. There was UT merchandise everywhere and people were eating it up. I'm sure some new fans were made that year and other years, as well. I've seen and met a lot of UT fans here in Utah, too.

I was in Boston this summer visiting my cousin. The first time I rode the subway I saw a Tennessee fan in a UT hat and struck up a conversation with him concerning the upcoming football season. Truly a volnation and I can't wait to see it converge on Nashville on Thursday. Go Vols! :loco:

It was a real feeling of pride when I met a person wearing a UT T-shirt in the middle of a bar in India. Walked up to him and had a long conversation about UT football.

Its great to be a Tennessee Vol !!!!

I met a guy in Chicago, who had lived in Chicago all of his life and he was a U.T. fan. I also met a guy in an airport in Osaka, Japan who was a U.T. fan. We are everywhere!!!

In Tempe at the FIRST BCS championship game, there was Orange everywhere. Everywhere we went, people were saying Tennessee had great fans and they could not believe how much orange was there. They were shocked that there was little Florida State gear.

On game day, my wife and I got to the stadium early and as we were walking on a sidewalk close the the entrance, a Fla State fan and his wife or girlfriend were standing there as we went by, and he did not intend for us to hear, but I heard him say, "These people are everywhere. You don't see any of our fans". Needless to say, I loved it.

The Orange took over the desert, and then took over Florida State!
