This game is a challenge, not only to win, but also to exit relatively uninjured. I'm afraid the wear and tear that manifests in Starkville will impact us in the coming weeks.

Dangerous, dangerous game.

I guess the writer had to stretch it a little bit to make what MSU has done this season sound impressive.

they did beat Auburn, which means that if the stars line up they could beat the Vols. doubtful, but possible.

Agree. Strange year all the way around with college football in general. Vols just need to keep momentum going. If they do, the game will take care of itself. Time to clock in.

I'm wondering just how god their defense is. They beat Auburn, but I'm not sure it's possible to get worse QB play than Auburn did early in that game.

Auburn is no offensive juggernaught. I think UTK's speed is probably too much for Miss St. My only concern would be if the Bulldogs manage to establish their running game and then grind out several 7-8 minute drives, thereby keeping EA off the field.

Check MSU QB play.

But on a serious note, they beat AU with a pick 6 and shutting down a bad AU offense that also lacked Lester. To Tuberville's credit, he and his staff showed they can fix problems.

That report is true. Although if our line plays like they did against UGA it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Running the ball is definately one of the things that Miss State can do. They can also stop the run fairly decently. Pass defense is another issue which is why if I'm Erik Ainge I am drooling at the opportunity to suit up against State. This game is the prototypical sandwich game(UGA-mediocre opponent-Bama) though. Although this year is a bit different with Miss State possibly having a chance at post season play if they can sneak one out against another SEC school. I see Ainge and his merry band of receivers having a big day!!

UT's d-line will shut down that overrated running game of Miss State. I predict less than 100 rushing yards.

I mean Ainge (10TD-2int) vs. Cox/Burns (5-8)

It's that simple. Auburn lost that game because of horrible quarterback play in which Tommy couldn't figure out which one to use.

Actually, MSU's strength on defense is their pass defense. Their rush defense is not too strong.

I've had trips to the bathroom that were more explosive than UAB's offense!!

Actually, MSU's defense hasn't been too bad in either category. Our offense just plain sucks. I know it's a joke as far as that stupid quote concerning UAB's offense, but the did got to OT with Florida State who has only lost 1 game and UAB was averaging over 21 points per game before they went to Starkville.

The South Carolina game's score is a bit deceptive. The last touchdown was made in the last minute of the game when MSU's defense actually thought spurrier was going to kneel to end the game. They were wrong and paid for it. State led that game for 3 quarters and really got beat the last quarter after a blocked punt and the loss of the only qb that was worth a damn (Riddle). You will not se much of Henig due to his sucktitude.
