I know third is not good enough for an sec championship, but from being where we were last season it's great. Currently we are fourth in the sec standings(behind Fla, Sc, and Uga), but if we win-out, which every vols fan thinks we can, we would be second in the sec standings. Now dont hate on me for dreaming but Auburn will probally lose to Alabama which would move us ahead of them in the SEC,and lsu losses to bama today (could happen) and they lose to either Ark or ole miss than we would be tied for third in the Sec. Now I think Lsu has been overated and ark underated, so they could very lose both, but being tied with Lsu for third from being no where near third in the east is a great job by lane kiffin. I can not wait for next season already. GO VOLS

Off topic, but if Tennessee was in the Big 10, I'm pretty sure they'd be unbeaten, assuming they played the better teams later in the year.

you must remember with orange colored glasses.
I've watched the Big 10. Everyone is awful. It's the MAC without Ohio State and Penn State. Iowa may be the worst team to ever make it this far without losing. With the exception of maybe 3 games, they have looked terrible.

And they're getting beat right now by Northwestern... But they'll find a way to pull it out in the 4th quarter. Just like they have 8 times already... Jesus

No one in the Big Ten, besides Ohio State and Penn State, is all that great this year. Yet again, it will be a two-horse race for the Big Ten title. I watched Iowa last week and they really are not that good. They are VERY lucky, but they aren't all that good.

3rd is good enough this year with a new staff and not having their guys. We were 5-7 last year. 8-4 would be nice.

Ohio State and Penn State aren't great, either. OSU's offense is awful. Pryor is a faster version of early season Crompton. OSU's running backs are bad, at best. Their offense is all about the big plays, something that Tennessee limits. The defense is pretty good. If Crompton plays like he has recently, Tennessee wins by 10. Penn State doesn't have an impressive victory, and the best team they have played is Iowa.. They host OSU tonight, and this would be their best.

We couldn't beat UCLA with a struggling Crompton...doubt we'd fare well in any conference playing like that.

You obviously aren't watching the Big 10 if you think that a mid-level Big 10 team is all that great. A mid-level Big 10 team is about as good as UCLA.

Iowa is praying on an awful conference, and they have definitely had some breaks. The fact that they were taken to the wire by Northern Iowa and Arkansas State, yet are running through the conference speaks volumes about the quality of football.

The SEC conference is no doubt the hardest to play in. There are 38 combined losses in the SEC and 32 of those are other SEC school which means theres only 6 out of conference losses

Remember next year we will have to break in a new QB and almost an entirely new OL. That puts a damper on my expectations for the season. To make it worse, we have early games with Oregon and Florida. We have LSU, GA and SC on the road. Coaches will put a good team on the field, but the tough early games are a concern.

I think most the starters on OL are on our team, know the lingo, getting the coaching and strength and conditioning. We will have a similar attack as this year-- a remedial passing attack and pound the rock. We won't win the SEC but we should only lose 2 or 3 games. By those standards, we will be better than this year. Beat Tiger High!!

If we win out and go 8 - 4 then we should go to a good bowl. 2 of those losses came to the No. 1 team and we should have beaten one of them ( Bama ) .
